I plan on taking that day off (if it's Friday) and heading down to the local Cingular store before it opens and trying to get one. If they don't have any, they don't have any, and i'll try to get one later. That's the MOST i'm going to do though to acquire one on release day. After that, i'll just be doing local checking here and there whenever i'm at a mall or near an Apple store.

i will be on a cruise unfortunately, is it going to be possible to go online and get the iPhone (with a new contract of course)?? do you go to apple.com or to cingular.com?

also, I live in suburban CT, do you people really think you are going to need to camp outside of stores? I think 500 is way more than most people would pay, and you have to be in the market to sign a new 2 year agreement, I just dont see it selling out the first day. Perhaps that weekend.
