dam ... apple know all people personal stuff and they pretent quite -

You honestly believe Apple doesn't do the same with the iCloud photos? Chuckle
At lest Google tells you. Apple is just ...... silent.

That's correct.

They've spent decades building a reputation of privacy and protecting their customers, even to the point lately that the government is telling them to be less secure and respect privacy less. There's absolutely no evidence that Apple doesn't respect my privacy. None. Google on the other hand, monetizes is. It is, in fact, their business model.

They've spent time in the past telling us what is best, holding on to customers, building a good image.
These days we see more issues, a company building on it's reputation instead of building ground breaking products, and a growing sense of disconnect between management and consumers.

btw: the government issue has to do with someone accessing and using your info; not what Apple is sharing with them. and others.

This has little if anything to do with whether Google or Apple are using our information for their own gains.

You still have zero reason to believe this concerning Apple. Zilch. We can parade around in aluminum foil hats and try to connect pushpins with yard all night long, but the evidence just isn't there (in regards to Apple, Inc.) Now Google, on the other hand, has a proven track record of using information without consent, hiding consent in TOS, and backpedaling on previous promises. Their mantra of "Don't be evil" is all but a touch-in-cheek joke at this point.

I just read this and thought of you: http://www.macworld.com/article/2974726/smartphones/don-t-be-not-apple-it-s-the-right-thing-to-do.html

Here's one excerpt:
"Apple makes money selling devices. One of the key differentiators between Apple’s products and those ofits competitors is they don’t make money on your information. But in Evans’ world (which is one that only exists in his fever dream) Apple will ditch that competitive advantage because… well, we’re not really sure why. Because it hates our personal liberties or some such."

Off subject a bit, but put me in the camp of people that CAN understand ipadpro. It's rather easy if you use context clues. Also, I've seen some people be not so nice to him. I personally enjoy his posts immensely. They are lighthearted and enthusiastic. He doesn't complain much or intentionally start wars on here. I find his version of English humorous in a good way. I might laugh in jest, but I really really do enjoy his posts. Because of him I find myself reading way more on the forums than before, and with less anxiety and tension as found in others. So, ipadpro, go you man! I am a fan, and I thank you for your contributions!

I think with Apple its "assumed"

Plus, i would never buy storage not in Australia anyway where i am.. too expensive..

Dropbox works better.. I wouldn't tryst icloud drive and im only basing this on the trouble its has with any of their cloud service.

Dropbox never has this problem as much because is simple... Apple has issues because they tie all of these services together.. Simple for the end user, but more problems to fix.

Its good, when it works, but i don't exactly cry wolf when it doesn't work either.

I use Dropbox for my cloud storage, as it is platform agnostic. Apple's solution does not extend to Android (yet), although it does support Windows.

Dropbox has not been without problems. A Google search will reveal some interesting stories and much finger-pointing for everything from "leaked" tax returns, loan applications, and compromised passwords, to deleted files. Choosing unique, secure passwords and enabling two-factor authentication are a must in today's world. As well, file-level encryption of sensitive documents would be appropriate for anything sensitive, like a tax return.

I'm intrigued with Apple's Photos sync, much more so than Google's, due to the privacy and ability to store original files how I choose. For that, I may upgrade my iCloud storage space.

I keep an eye on what I have left but I don't take that many pictures. I do have a lot of photos from past years but I've sent them to Amazon Prime which has unlimited photo storage. But if I do get near my 5GB limit, I'll take the 99 cents a month route as it is easier than any other alternative to make sure both my iPad and iPhone get backed up.
