I use spotify for all my streaming need but once in a while i'll still buy either a physical or digital copies of albums I want either from bands I'm major fans of or tracks of songs i can't find on spotify but can find on iTunes. rare but occasionally happens.

Do you use the free or premium version of Spotify? And is it fairly easy to use?

Yeah I definitely prefer to buy my music (and movies) as opposed to renting or streaming. Although I do use Netflix now and then. I wouldn't mind Apple Music if it didn't mess around with people's personal music library. Maybe Spotify would be better in that it's separate from iTunes.

How is the manufacturing quality superior in the EU as opposed to the US? I have actually seen music or movies where the content or packaging is different in North America vs Europe. I'm sure there's a reason for that.

That's a long story, you need to Google it. But a quick example is the Beatles releases since the 60's...all those altered covers and track lists, etc... Even the recent Stereo usa cd boxes had glue.

Regarding manufacturing quality nowadays:

1) Japan
2) EU
3) USA - Mexico

Premium. It's fantastic. It's easy to use, imo, with its user friendly UI. You can easily find what you want to listen to, create playlists, etc.

Hmm perhaps I'll try it out. I assume I can cancel at any time if I didn't like it right?

Well I have this set and it seems fine to me. I got it used as well for $100 Canadian.

Do you use it just on your phone or also on your Mac?

I have it on both but mostly use it on my phone just because I'm mostly out and about more. I stream music a lot throughout my day. Spotify is definitely one of my most used apps.

To be fair most of the people don't care about where a cd is made to be sincere, that's pretty much collector's terrain even worst most of the people don't buy cd's or LP's anymore...

BTW all the mono cd boxes were made in Japan....For a reason and FTW!

Made in Japan, Printed in Japan.

Except for the lame fake ones....

Well I guess I'm old cause I still love going into used music shops to buy CDs as well as buy new. I just splurged on the Rocketeer 2CD James Horner score from the UK Amazon store and I'm in Canada. Was about $65 Canadian. A decent amount of coin but it's an excellent score. If only I could find the LOTR Complete Recordings CDs for a sensible price.

Hi,

actually do you still buy music on iTunes or you switched to Apple Music or another streaming service?

I never bought music on iTunes..... Only started listening after Apple music came out.

I do occasionally buy from iTunes, especially if I've managed to get hold of discounted iTunes cards but I'm actually buying more CDs these days. They often work out costing the same or cheaper than the download from Apple and you get the bonus of a physical copy which takes seconds to rip.

Yes. Same for me. Some I still can't find on iTunes so I end up buying the CD somewhere online.

Very rarely buy anything on iTunes anymore. Pretty much have everything I want and I'm not really into new music. I've been toying with subscribing to Apple Music though, especially now that they have the $99 annual plan, will probably wait until I get the iPhone 8 though.

Only buy an occasional song. This year, I think I bought 1 or 2 songs and that's been it. Haven't heard anything worth buying so far.

I have no interest in streaming because I'm too often without an internet connection. Lately, when I try to buy something on iTunes, I'm steered to Apple Music with no recourse. Result: No sale.

So, I tried to buy an album on an iMac. What unbelievable frustration. Apple has lost it.

LOLOL I, glad you've decided that artists earn enough. In reality, the vast majority of artists make pittance. Not to mention, songwriters don't tour. Producers don't tour. All people that contributed to the song you're playing. They need to be paid too.

Tbh, the artists earn enough. These days they make most of their money through touring, not record sales. It's just the way the industry is moving, hence why more artists are getting on board with streaming.

I've never been steered to Apple Music when buying a song on iTunes. But then again I haven't bought a a song from there in a while. I do notice on the main page there are banners saying "why buy when you can stream?" It won't surprise me if Apple stopped selling music and only streams.

I don't buy albums. I went straight from torrenting music to Spotify close to 6 years ago. Buying albums was an experience back when they came with art and booklets, with lyrics and whatnot. It's less of an experience now that it is all digital.

I'm subscribed to Apple Music and in the last six months or so I've purchased more music via iTunes (especially albums) than I have done in the past.

It's great to a physical CD now and again but it's not something I do as often.

I bought two songs this weekend that i heard on the local radio station while I was at work. I do have Apple music as well.

I think I bought fours songs total this year so far.

In my car, I still play music that I actually have on my phone although I have used Apple music to stream one or two of the daily playlists.

Of course! and cd's too! also i'm an Apple Music sub..

Let me Explain

1) CD's because i get the whole deal and i own the media.

2) Files, because i have to wait a couple of month before my physical media arrives from Europe so in the meantime i listen to the files and some are mastered for iTunes so...

3) Apple Music, for the rest of the music i don't buy or just for convenience (a quick listening) or for things i can't pay because they are too expensive digital and physical.
