Not the gym, but I read it on the pot and in the bathtub... haven't figured out a way to take it in the shower yet. ;)

LOL!!! My wife's nick name for her iPad was the Potty Pad. I warned if she was only going to use it to go to the potty, I was going to sell it. I have since sold her wifi pad from non-use...she preferred her laptop still. Not me...I have my netbook up for sale...and other laptops have been relegated to the closet!

As far as the gym...I have done it three times...other times I have been in classes, so no to those times.

All three times I was VERY please to have the ipad. No headphones because I had pulled an iTouch to the ground once before.

Most surprising was how easy and fun and how FAST the time flew when I was reading a book in both iBooks. I was able to make the text really large...and was able to run...and EASILY swipe the pages. I hate working on in place...and this was the best time of working out in a really long time...even compared to listening to music.

Poor George Costanza would have benefited so much had iPad and eBay been around back then.

(Jerry and George are at Brentano's. George is trying to return the book)

GEORGE: Yes, I, uh, I need to return this book.

CASHIER: (Puts the book's code into the computer) I'm sorry, we can't take this book back.

GEORGE: Why not?

CASHIER: It's been flagged.

GEORGE: (Confused) Flagged?

CASHIER: It's been in the bathroom.

GEORGE: It says that on the computer?

CASHIER: Please take it home. We don't want it near the other books.

GEORGE: (Outraged. Leaving) Well, you just lost a lot of business! Because I love to read!

iPad has helped me extend 1 hour to 2 plus hour work outs, I loosing weight now.

I now watch 2 - 3 hour movies and burn 1600 - 2000 Kcals, lost 20lbs at the moment, and have another 60lbs to go.

I on a crossfit machine (elliptical) I am disabled (antitank mine Iraq 2004) so I am limited to what I can do.

it is good to get thinner again.

I don't think that sweaty hands would be optimum for using the touch screen. But if you just like to hang out in the lounge area it would be fine.

If you can read/watch something while on the treadmill then you aren't working out with enough intensity :-D

Depends mate. I realise you were saying that tongue in cheek ;)

If someone is overweight, often walking on the runner is the best way to go. Just pop it on an incline and burn some calories. Less stressful on the heart, and obviously much less stressful on the joints. Running is great for when the weight has come off a little

In normal circumstances though, I'd agree. The amount of women who walk on the runner ...... i can't say what I'd like to say for fear of being banned! lol.

I disagree. I am so happy that I can now read on my iPad while working out on my elliptical. I wear a heart rate monitor and stay right in my target zone, so I know I'm working out at the right intensity. I'm working out to be healthy, not training for a marathon or anything. If using an iPad to read or watch TV or movies motivates people to work out, that has to be a good thing!

WOW!!! Now this is a good accessory. Not sure I need something so fancy, but this is probably pretty good incase the pad ends up IN the water for a second.

Actually, I was at the beach last weekend. Wife likes to read her book. I left my ipad in the car...KNOWING I was going to wish I had it...but NO WAY I was going to expose it to the sand blowing...surely to end up on screen an scratch in a split second.

I thought then to bring a ziplock bag next time.

But this item would better...especially for the boat. I have been taking the iPad as a way to navigate the water ways as we get off back off the river...it can very confusing with the logger water runs. We have gone around before in circles...before the iPad. But is has made me very nervous when I pull the iPad out.

Very cool. I don't suppose you have actually held this item? Do you know if it is big enough for the iPad with a Incase grip on it?

Thanks!!

I don't have this exact product, because I don't know if I want to take my iPad on my boat. However I have a smaller version of it that I got from West Marine for my iPhone and it works OK. The only problem with it is that it is generic and has a blue back so the camera doesn't work. That of course is no problem with the iPad since it doesn't have a camera.

West Marine has them in various sizes so one there may fit the iPad.

My gym is in my house, and yes i use my iPad there. this is my setup on my 80's era treadmill...

I use the Apple iPad case, so when I am walking after I am finished, it get the sweat, and a quick wipe at home it looks good as new, I don't touch the screen much, just to start the movie.
