Apple will have to bring 120Hz to all iPhones because of competition. Cheap Android phones are starting to get 120Hz, and it does not make any sense for a $700 to not have the feature.I'm wondering if you think 120hz will make its way to the entire iPhone range in the next release or two, or do you think Apple will keep it exclusively for the Pro models for the next few releases?
Since there will be only 4 models next year, It’ll be interesting to see what apple does.
2 iPhones 6.1”
2 iPhones 6.7”
Wouldn’t surprise me if only the pro models get ProMotion again next year.

If Apple is indeed releasing only two sizes, then it may choose to put the same screen on the models with the same size, which meant all of them could get ProMotion. Tim Cook is all about the supply chain.Probably depends if they got enough of other things to make the Pro stand out.
Why "only" 4 models? Currently, there are also 4 modelsSince there will be only 4 models next year, It’ll be interesting to see what apple does.

Non-pro iPads do not have Pro-Motion, so perhaps neither will the non-pro iPhones. it is a currently a differentiator between the pro and non-pro lines for iPads, so why not for iPhones?
Apple is not immune to competition. Apple can, of course, still offer iPhones without ProMotion if it keeps the product competitive. The 2022 non-Pro iPhones will not have ProMotion. You heard it here first!
It took them X years to bring ProMotion to the pro iPhones. I am confident that it will not take them 1 year to bring the feature to the iPhone 14 non pro models. They will need to continue to differentiate and as it is, ProMotion is one of the biggest differentiators in the line up now - apart from some camera upgrades and the more premium materials.
For those comparing the competition - Apple doesn't easily give in to comparisons like that, as long as they know they have a product which sells and appeals. If not they would've put 120Hz in long time ago - many would say their 60Hz display still felt smooth and till now many say its not hugely discernible.
2023 and beyond is not impossible, but I believe it will take a lot longer than that.
Tim Cook is all about them dollars, look at that crap thing they released, that's meant to be a iPad mini, one of the worse screens I've ever seen, they give it a fancy name, Retina display, it's the same garbage screen as previous years lol.If Apple is indeed releasing only two sizes, then it may choose to put the same screen on the models with the same size, which meant all of them could get ProMotion. Tim Cook is all about the supply chain.
Should it be left to Apple, it would never put 120Hz on the non-Pro models, to fulfill Tim Cook's never-ending desire to upsell everything. However, competition is here. There are already Android phones with 120Hz AMOLED displays selling for less than $350. And phones with 120Hz IPS LCD displays selling for less than $250. They are already for sale. Next year, more Android models will get 120Hz and even faster displays, and prices tend to go down. Every phone will eventually get it. Apple will probably not be able to keep 120Hz as a premium feature for its $999+ phones for long.
I would guess that all iPhone models will get ProMotion by 2022 or 2023 at the latest.
Mini is getting dropped next year. Why "only" 4 models? Currently, there are also 4 models![]()
Maybe they'll keep ProMotion another year a "Pro" exclusive feature, I agree. But the year after that, 120hz will be standard on all iPhones I guess.
