Do you think I have a shot at a job in retail?

Any ideas? I have a huge passion for apple and to at least work in retail is my greatest goal. I know a lot about tech of Apple and have been told I have good people skills. One thing is in my town you have to be 18 to work there and when im 18 in a month right on my birthday im going in to apply.

When you go to an interview, show a passion for the products they sell.

Make friends with the employees. The more that will vouch for you to the stores hiring manager, the more likely you are to get an invite to a hiring seminar.

You're worrying too much. There isn't much you can do to influence it. If there is an opening, you'll likely get the job.

It's a retail job. Apply and if you get called in for an interview, do your best. That goes for any retail job. There's nothing special about Apple.

Do not mention that if you get an interview. Jumping the chain is not a good way to get things done.

It's a store, that is open certain hours, where people can come browse and/or buy something. Your job is to assist customers with questions about a product and hopefully make a sale. Sounds just like Sears, Best Buy, Apple, or even Lowe's.

Yes it is. The only thing that sets it aside is that kids really want to work there whereas no kid ever really gets all excited about working at say JC Penny.

OP: follow most of the advice here and stop e-mailing the head honcho for application tips.
