Doesn't the 2020 Air also have a physical home button but at the top?

Yes, I forgot to mention Vanced. It’s probably one of my most used app on my phone in addition to NewPipe. Sadly, the options for the iPad in this regard are neither as elegant, nor convenient.

This is also the reason I will most likely continue with an Android phone though I have found myself toying with the idea of an iPhone recently. A large AMOLED screen Android with a large battery and sterilised in the way I want, paired with my IPP and my trusted X1C6 satisfies my tech needs (very likely my needs as compared to most on MR are very basic, but it is what it is).
Can totally relate to this as an Android phone user myself. I find the latest iPhones beautiful and the enhancements to iOS 14 intriguing but can’t get myself to let go of my OP 6T yet because I stand to lose key functionality by the change that I’ll never get back on iOS side.

I’m starting to think seriously about supplementing my iPad Pro 12.9 with an Android tablet too just to get certain capabilities like XBOX Game Pass - I’m not really sure if I want to wait around for a web browser workaround to get it. I really wouldn’t mind having a mini as well . . ultimately if i could get a mini and have game pass on it that’d be great lol.

I use an OP6T too! Been using it literally since release day!

Yesterday I bought the 2019 iPad mini. I think the 2021 one will be sold for 449-499 USD/499-550 euro for 64 GB. As I could buy the 2019 one for 359 euro I caved in. I could be wrong.

Pretty much agree with everything, with maybe one exception, if you mainly (or only) want to watch videos, on speakers, something like the Tab A7 has better speakers and a better aspect ratio (with a good screen) for less money, but not much less money (around $100 less excluding sales), and you give up a lot of power (A8X power vs A12 power) for anything else and a it won't age nearly as well (but again for just watching video, that is not really relevant).
Do you mean the 2019 8” Samsung Tab A? Only current Samsung tablet similar size to iPad mini. I have one. It’s well made but that’s about it. The screen colours and resolution are awful and even brand new straight out of the big it lags like hell. My iPad mini 4 beats it in almost every way.
