sorry: I caught it - it will do it, but MagSafe charges at a faster rate than USB-C...
so MagSafe at home (unless you have a USB-C dock), and USB-C on the road, I guess.

Yes. It is a separate cable, so you can use it with any charger.

It will, however, require a "special" cable for MagSafe (heavier duty).
My ThinkPad (work) won't charge via USB-C at all, and my wife's Dell Latitude requires almost a scientifically specific mix of charger and cable to charge via USB-C.

With that said, my MBP's all work great charging from my Dell U-series displays - video+power+hub - any cable...
