Do you want the ability to change the color of the SMS blurbs?

First, JB.

Second, of all the things that need changing on the iphone this is the one minor issue you thought warranted a thread? Really?

OMG A THREAD?!! I AM SO NOT WORTHY OF CREATING A THREAD!!! THE WORLD IS GOING TO END, I TELL YOU!!

Is anyone else sick of the green and gray/white SMS blurbs when you text? I currently have a BlackBerry, but I had an iPhone for a year and a half, and I want the option to change the colors when I get the new iPhone. I think it would be cool if Apple included the ability to change the color of them in the 4.0 software. Just like you can in iChat.

Can anyone see this happening in the future?

Clearly you don't have an iPhone. If you did, SMS bubble color would be just about the last thing you wish was different/customizable.

I don't like the green, but it's still at the bottom of the list of things I want changed. At the top, multitasking, tethering.

Being able to change the chat bubble colors is important to many people, and it's something that people have to see often... For me personally, I go into the Messaging app over 100 times per day.

Change the bubble colors???? Bite your tongue!!! If we were able to customize something like that the iPhone just wouldn't be an iPhone. You might mistake your phone for a stapler
;)

So do I. So do probably two-thirds of iPhone users.

Ninety-five percent of those users would also rather have a new UI or the ability to run apps in the background before concerning themselves with SMS bubble colors. Not to mention probably 100 other things.

Bottom line: SMS bubble color doesn't matter to most people. Yeah, it'd be a nice throw-in feature, but no one is praying the next update/iPhone will let you have red SMS bubbles... except maybe the OP.

Um, I had my 3G for about a year, and then I had my 3GS for about 5 months. And for someone who texts a lot like me, I just think it would be a nice little throw-in feature.

All the people on here like you, who keep saying it's not that important and whatever, may be right. But I can bet my bank account on it, that if the feature was available, you and all those other people who bashed the idea would use it.

Don't lie. ;)

ive had an iphone since day 1.. Ive been jailbroken. Only reason y im currently not is because i had to get a new 3gs from apple because of problems with my last.
I've had all types of themes, and i've changed my sms many times. Honestly, i prefer the default set. I changed my colors several times because i could never find the right set.
Its also the same way with things. You download a theme. Wait a couple days, something comes out. You use it. ANd its just a cycle.

Not bashing the idea. It's something that should already exist, and would be a throw-in.

My point is that if the iPhone got 100 new features and different colored SMS bubbles wasn't one, I wouldn't be upset and I'm sure a lot of other people wouldn't be either (other updates/improvements key).

Well, sure. But I never said it was the #1 thing this phone needs.

Although I'm not sure about 100 things before this lol. There are some big things I'd want on the new 4G/4.0 software, like multitasking, video chat, more memory, better camera, new design, etc. But I'm just saying the phone should be more customizable.

Why do you care that I have an opinion?

Wow, you are pretty vain huh.... what makes you think any one cares what your opinion is? How about you get over yourself and don't worry what any one else makes their iPhone look like.

Are you serious? When it comes to updates for the iPhone, I wouldn't consider this a priority.
Anyway, as people have noted, JB takes care of that. You just have to be indifferent to the way JB slows down your phone. But hey, as long as it's pretty, who cares? </sarcasm>

Lol, how about just get a better phone? Jk

Winterboard caused my 3G to be sooo slow, well that and the fact that I downloaded a lot of crap onto it. I got the 3GS and it's so smooth now:)

OK, mine has been jailbroken (and I use Winterboard) since early August sometime, and there has been no difference whatsoever in its performance. I think people think it's set in stone that everyone's phone will slow to a crawl once JB'd, and that just ain't the case. Mine is a 3GS, so perhaps any difference in speed might be more noticeable in earlier models, but to make that sweeping generalization is simply misleading.

 at those pics...

that is why apple disproves of jailbreaking.. because people make their iPhone's look retarded.

Totally fella- leave design to the designers I say. Saying that, might be nice to have a few professionally designed options (maybe graphite / aqua like in os X).
