I use an Apple keyboard and a bluetooth mighty mouse when at my desk at home. I toss the mouse in my bag and use it occasionally on the go as well. I really like Apple's new aluminum keyboard.

+1

The trackpad is okay, but I personally just find it easier to use a mouse. So when I can, i do.

Same for the keyboard. If I'm at home, using a full size keyboard is just more natural for me. The keys on the mBP are nicely size, but the cramped layout can slow me down.

Also... I can tolerate the rough plasticky feel of the MBP keys, but I could do without it, too. Having a bluetooth keyboard with a better feel helps.

When I'm in the office, I use a Logitech mouse and sometimes a tablet (depending on what I'm doing at the time). On the road, I use the pad. Luckily, the MBPs pad is pretty good for most things.

i picked up one of the new logitech v470s and it's super sweet. bluetooth and laser, side to side wheel movement. yummy.

I use a simple mouse because of ergonomics. I place my laptop at the back of my desk so I have room in front of me for books and work. It is a pain to stretch forward to use the laptop, so I instead use an external keyboard and mouse.

I used a wired Mighty Mouse. I found using the trackpad constantly to be very cumbersome.

I don't have my mbpro yet (I will by next week though, I'm so excited!) but I do a lot of graphic design and photo editing so I will be using a wireless mouse probably almost ALL of the time. The trackpad is still pretty cool though.

I prefer using a mouse for reasons stated above.

The trackpad isn't a bother, but doing anykind of work within reason of time constraints could be bothersome without one.

In fact, I'm trying to sell my G5 minus the mouse for just said reasons.

I'll rather throw in a 17" Apple display then sell the mouse.

That's the same mouse I bought last week on Amazon! I bought the white/silver one. It got here last Wednesday, but I don't have my mbpro yet and my desktop doesn't have bluetooth so I have yet to test it out. How is it? Is everything as smooth and precise as the box says? Is the bluetooth connectivity flawless? How's the side-to-side movement?

The two finger scrolling is nice, but I love the scroll wheel/ball on the MM.

That Logitech looks nice, though ...

Can't live without a mouse on my notebook. It's too slow to use the trackpad on notebooks. I see people take 5 minutes to do a few basic things when I could do it in 1 with the use of a mouse. (I'm exaggerating, but you get the idea)

i have a wireless logitech mouse, just a small one that I live off of. its always on my desk and i only use the track pad when I take my laptop elsewhere. Its just so handy, and it is a must for graphic design work...

Microsoft Notebook Optical USB mouse- small, soft rubber like coating

I find a mouse gives me more precise control and right clicking is so easy compared to ctrl clicking.

I ordered a Dell bluetooth mouse, it was cheap. I've tried bluetooth and wireless mice in the past and really hated the delay in response but this one was $19 so giving it another try.

90% of the time I use my mbp in class, in which there is absolutely no room for a mouse (and just barely enough room for a mbp!)

Same. I use a VX Revolution as my mouse. Great mouse!

I have to agree with the Logitech "Revolution" series users. I use the Logitech MX Revolution because of its Mac drivers, incredible customisability, and refined feel of the buttons, spinwheel, and springwheel. I currently use the MX Revolution on an iMac 24", MBP 17", and Windows XP Pro PC. I can't live without it. It increases my workflow significantly.

i use a wireless migthy mouse with my macbook pro. i went for the minimalist approach getting a bluetooth mouse that doesnt use a usb port. the batteries in the mighty mouse last about a month. im gonna get an apple keyboard and a dell lcd soon to use my mac as a desktop replacement.

if you use a bluetooth mouse ... the battery dies faster ? I'm planning to get a bluetooth mouse because macbook pros have only 2 USB slots :(, but if it eats the battery ... I'd prefer th USB ones.

The trackpoint (ala Thinkpads) is my favorite integrated pointing device...as it allows me to move the mouse without removing my hands from the keyboard.

If I must move a hand from the keyboard, I'll reach for the greatest external pointing device ever created:

Or, if you must have a scroll wheel:

I use the Logitech VX Revolution as well...I do a lot of web design work so I need to have an external mouse or else I would just go crazy trying to use the trackpad. It's a great mouse and for a notebook mouse, it's actually a good size for me and I like it a lot.

I use a Bluetooth Apple mouse, the one with the roller-dot and the right-click capability. I don't much like the touchpad on laptops, and the mouse feels more intuitive to me. I also feel like I have finer control over what I'm doing; the mouse doesn't seem quite as jumpy.

Yes, but only when the laptop is closed and I'm using monitor/Apple wireless keyboard.

If I could get an Apple wireless keyboard with the MBP trackpad, I'd be all set.
