I noticed after I selected play more like this, the song list was narrowed down to the point it was repeating the same three or four songs. I deleted all play more likes to open the song list back up.

Another issue, after I listen for a couple of hours it feels like the song list is on a loop and starts over. Like a top forty station playing the same songs over an eight hour period.

Cool, hope you like it! rdio has a lovely UI too, IMO. Takes a bit to figure out what's a side swipe vs. swipe up or down, but once you do it flows pretty well. Also, pressing and holding on playing album or song brings up lots of options.

Let me know if you have any questions, I've been using it on various platforms (desktop, android) for a while so know it pretty well. Have fun!

I agree! This opens up a whole new world.. I love it. Are there limited skips like all the others? I don't mind but just curious.

I'll try out the press and hold thing now.

Voted "only sometimes". I like it so far, but am only using it because it's free (I already subscribe to iTunes Match). I wouldn't pay $10/month for a service like Spotify, Rdio etc., since I usually easily find something to listen to in my own library.

It has already prompted me to buy an album from an artist that I didn't know before though, so Apple's evil plan is working. ;)

What do you use to find new music?

Amazon, Spotify, YouTube. I also speak to my friends who often get me listening to new and different stuff. Occasionally, I make a blind purchase from a CD store just to mix things up a bit.

If you're a subscriber listening to a generated radio station you have unlimited skips, and you can add any songs you like to your collection, personal playlist, or download for offline listening. :)

I want to use it, but more often than not it won't let me. After 2 songs, 2 hours, or sometimes right away...it won't play anything. Just acts like it is buffering then quits. Happens to me on iTunes on my MBP and on my iPhone. And it happens with multiple stations. And once it stops working it can be an hour or more before it works again.

Back to Songza for me!

I've used it a couple of times. it's ok i guess. I really like the interface though. I hope Apple improves it and makes it available to more countries.

I haven't tried it yet. I have a server with all my cd's ripped to FLAC and occasionally use Sirius XM

I have a real problem with how low the royalties are for artists on these streaming services.

One of the issues I have is that it played music that was at odds with the artists selected. And it needs the option to "Never play this artist again" not just "this song" when selecting from a song being played. I had to manually enter the artist in the don't play again list.

Not quite ready yet, hopefully it will get there soon.

ITunes Radio

I use it sometimes, but prefer my preset stations I have on my Tunein app.

Nope, iTunes Radio Doesn't Seem to Work

I've attempted to use iTunes Radio several times to see if it was worthwhile.

Even after the latest OS X 10.8.5 Update that included a new iTunes, it still doesn't work.

Regardless of which "station" that I select, iTunes plays exactly one song from the "station".

Selecting another "station" results in some information about the song to be played being downloaded but nothing is played.

Do I not have something configured correctly or is this feature simply for iOS devices?

I really like iTunes radio as a concept, but I have encountered some issues that make the experience less than optimal.

The song variety seems very high for making stations, but seems to repeat songs quite often once you're honed in. [Maybe the 'star' function is over-weighted?]

A couple of my stations become unresponsive after a while (a few dozen songs). When I click the play button, it fails to serve me any song at all. At this point, I can remake the station or use another station without a problem, but it's a bit annoying. [Possibly another consequence of the 'star' function being too powerful, maybe no songs satisfy my criteria?]

Still far too many repeats for me. Also, I have about 50 artists selected on a custom station but I only hear songs from about 10 of them.

Wrong. From the Apple support site: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS5181

Can I skip Songs?

Yes. You can skip six songs per station per hour. If the Skip Forward control appears dimmed and doesn't respond, you have reached the maximum number of skips for that channel per hour.

The limit is the same whether you're a Match sub or not. All that Match subbing gets you is the avoidance of ads.

I was talking about rdio, not iTunes....

I use itunes and no longer slacker. Listen about 2 hours a day, and have several stations setup. Thus music is always different from day to day.

My vote would be: Yes but I'm beginning to not like it

I'm still listening daily but I echo all the complaints about repeating songs and the service seeming to not pay attention to the Never Play list. And the biggest issue for me is my U2 Radio has only played a smattering of U2 but has pushed tons of REM, Snow Patrol, Goo Goo Dolls, and Imagine Dragons on me. I like REM and don't mind the others but they're playing them way too much.

I submitted feedback through the Apple site (http://apple.com/feedback ) but they didn't have anything specifically for iTunes Radio so it went to the general iTunes feedback under OSX apps. Not sure if there's somewhere else iTunes Radio feedback is supposed to go.
