I use both the apple supplied ones and my er6i's they're AMAZING. I love them they block out all external noise and they sound great, plus they fit in my iphone as well!

i used my apple ones until they completely died on me, never understood why iwould want to spend more than 20 dollars on ear phones i thought they would all sound the same, my friend convinced me and i spend 25 bucks for sennheiser cx300 on ebay, got them today and WOW, huuuuugeee difference, i wish i listened to him long time ago the sound quality difference is soooo big i never see myself going back to apple ear phones...

I hope they weren't used

I write electronic music and listen to a lot of music with creative and pronounced bass so the standard apple ones just couldn't float. I picked up a pair of noise cancelling sony buds for 40 bucks at best buy(hated giving them my money). They give me some decent bass and some good highs. They still feel a bit uncomfortable though.

actually the rubber surrounding my apple airbuds just started detouching..
i'll go for some new ones, wantes the in-ear, shure, senheiser, but
ARE THEY CONFORTABLE? do they stay there if you are running?

thanks..

yes they are very comfortable, at least with the sennheiser cx 300, they fit really well and do not come off while training, that was one of my main concerns, i do muay thai and i can train with them(no sparring obviously)in my ears and don't have to keep taking my gloves off to fix them which i had to do with the apple ones, the only annoying thing that i found was that because tehy are noise cancelling and they seal you ear so the background noise is lost, you can hear yourself so much more ahahhah like if you hum or you are running and breathing heavily, plug your ears with your fingers and hum a song you will see what i mean but after you get used to it they are awesome...

I use these awesome earphones from Sony. I tried to use the earphones that comes with the ipod, but they hurt my ears and the sound isn't that great with them

Can someone please comment on the following:

Does the supplied headphones that come with the iPhone with the cool buttons to pause/play/skip tracks etc. work with the new iPod touch?! This would be so cool! I would not like to have to pull the iPod Touch out of my pocket, activate it from sleep mode than skip tracks etc. Doing it from the headphones like the iPhone does would be so much cooler!!

And no I can't just buy an iPhone, I'm from Australia as my name would imply :)

Thanks in advance.

Earbuds

Personally, I just can't see how you could use the Apple buds than come with the iPod. To be frank, they're ****. I think that if you've bought an iPod, you may as well invest in some decent earbuds that enable you to actually hear the music properly, something you definately can't do with the included pair. You presumably bought your iPod because you want to listen to music, so you may as well do it properly...

On top of that, the Apple pair usually falls apart after a couple of months so you're left with little choice!

I use the Sennheiser CX300s, they're fantastic and will deliver a higher sound quality and frequency range than the vast majority of hi-fi systems. I would definatelt reccomend them, they're well worth their price compared to other buds in excess of $80.

Even if you don't want to fork out that much, many $20 are even better than the included buds (considerably. However, I would strongly reccomend against purchasing the Apple "in ear buds", a friend of mine has them and they are very poor quality for their price.

I hipe this is good info,

doobs

I bought a pair of black E2C for two reasons. One, the sound quality is great and with them being canal phones they block out alot of background noise. The second reason is personal safety, alot of people around here get mugged for simply having white headphones, it's pretty much asking to be mugged so I don't wear them.

I can't believe no one has mentioned Ultimate Ears. They make amazing IEM's. (In Ear Monitors) The Super Fi 5 Pro's are middle of the range really, they sound fantastic, just look around for some reviews. They easily rival Ety and Shure's offerings.

I tried the apple ear buds when I first got my iPod but they wouldn't stay in my ears while I was running (which is why I bought the iPod in the first place). I ended up with a $15 pair of over the ear head phones and they work pretty good even while wearing glasses.

I rock Bose Triports. Audiophiles will laugh smugly at my over-priced, over-bassy choice, but I friggin' love these things, and last time I checked, they're the same ones Apple uses in their retail stores to show off their iPods.

I am currently using the V-Moda Vibe earphones, and they are excellent!!! They were $99, and well worth the price.

The only time I ever used the supplied earbuds was the old version, and I bought the Griffin kit ($9) to convert them for in-ear use. This was the only way to get any bass response from the standard earbuds. Otherwise, they are junk.

I can't use most earbuds (for some reason, they can make my jaw go numb, plus I find them generally uncomfortable), so I bought a pair of basic Sennheiser over the ear headphones (the folding PX100). I'm thinking of upgrading, though, to something similar (PXC150 or 250) that have "Noiseguard." The ones I currently have are good general headphones, but they aren't real great at blocking noise on airplanes. However, since I don't fly all that much (3-4 trips a year), upgrading hasn't been a priority so far.

I have Sennheiser CX300's. I got mine for about $50, though they generally run for close to $70. They are quite comfortable, have great sound, reduce outside noise, and didn't break the bank (yet provide far better sound and performance than any low or midrange headphones i've seen). They won't top the cream of the crop $100+ headphones, but they hit at a notch right below that, perfect for me :)

Where's the option for both? I use Apple earbuds most of the time, but I have some Shure SE530's (~$400) that I use for the gym (to zone out), or when I'm composing on my laptop. The Apple earbuds are pretty decent quality, and work great with the iPhone. They pack very easily too.
