Old iPod

The only thing I have owned from apple since i got my iPhone was my 80gb Classic that i got for Christmas last year. I am still in High School so on the bus ride I use my iPod for music and play games on my iphone.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPod; U; CPU iPhone OS 2_1_1 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/525.18.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/3.1.1 Mobile/5F138 Safari/525.20)

My first iPod, a 1gb black 1g nano, is still going strong; it was then given to my sister and just recently my mums started using it for work. It's replacement, a 30gb 5.5g, is still used by myself as an iTunes backup and portable hard drive.

All I have are old iPods (look at signature). I will buy a new one when it stops performing.

I have 3 previous iPods, a 30GB iPod photo (4G?)
Yeah, 4G. Although the original 40/60GB were called iPod Photo, then they dropped the 40GB to 30GB and took out the firewire cable etc, (hence I snapped up a discounted one with firewire, never looked back). After that they renamed it iPod with Color Display.

Anyway, my primary iPod is still my 60GB iPod Photo. I was using my 2G nano the other day as my main one as my 60GB was displaying the sad iPod icon. I was convinced it was finally a goner. Once I finally had some free time yesterday I connected it to my iMac and boom, it sprung back into life.

I may have to retire it soon though, before it really is unusable. Possibly replace it with a 2nd hand 160GB.

I want to use my Old 20GB ipod (3G? 2005ish) but sadly its dead :(
Any tips on renewing life to it? I think it need a new HD but I have no idea on legit places to get it replaced.

i still use my Shuffle on the school bus. But rarely use my mini, it sits on my shelf in its dock, looking nice and collecting dust.

and the parents wont let me take the iphone to school :(

Well I use my iPod Video in my car whenever I driving because I don't feel like dealing with CDs since my changer is in my trunk (not that I would want to deal with them if it was inside the car) and radio just doesn't cut it.

My iPod Touch is collecting dust since I got my iPhone. I need to find a something good to do with it because it is a pity to have it just be there collecting dust. ne ideas?

Still rockin the 1st gen one gig nano, been great for 3 years :). Still i want to get a new nano, as i havent been able to fit all my music on my iPod for some time.

My first ever iPod was a 1 GB shuffle (first gen). Sold it to a friend for $15.

My second iPod was the 30 GB iPod classic. I still have it, but I gave it to my father who uses it for his music.

My third iPod was the 8 GB iPod nano (second gen). I now use it exclusively as an 8 GB flash drive.

My fourth iPod was the 8 GB iPod nano (third gen). I gave it to my sister to use for her music.

My fifth and current iPod is the new iPod nano (fourth gen). It works, but is having some syncing issues with iTunes...

I have had a 5th generation 30 GB for nearly three years (well, the first two died while under warranty, and were replaced, so the current 30 GB is just over two years old). I still use it as a back-up, although it had begun to show signs of seizing up (random freezes, crashes, etc) in the past month or so. It has been superseded by a refurb 80 GB iPod, which works wonderfully - and comes with a great battery and excellent capacity.
Cheers

I use my old 80gb ipod video in my car. I bought the Alpine iDA-X100 and just keep the ipod in the car all the time so I constantly have my entire music library in my car. Works very well and in full speed.

I still use my 2G Nano. I find it better to waste it's battery instead of the iPhones when I'm traveling.

I have an old 4G with a dead HD, so I don't use it. I really don't need it anyway, since I carry my iPhone everywhere.

Still I was thinking about fixing it and giving it to my mom. She used to borrow it to go jogging when I lived at home. Do you guys think it's worth it or should I just get her a new nano or shuffle for xmas? She doesn't really care about new features and form factor...

I've got 2 old ones (my current one that I actually use is a shuffle).

3rd Gen stays in the car and has replaced my CD's.

1st Gen (bought it about a week after iPods were first introduced to the world) is in a drawer in my room. It pretty much acts as a DVD-RW. A really, really expensive one.

Totally forgot about my other ipods. lol.

Shuffle: sits in the bathroom with speakers for when I'm in the shower.
1G Nano: don't use it much, but use it with the Nike+iPod when I go running.
iPod Video: in the car with Alpine iDA-x100.

I use my second gen shuffle (almost 2 years old now!) for running. My (my gf's) 1st gen ipod 5 GB stays in its box though.

My old 15GB 3G iPod died a long time ago. But the replacement, a 4G U2 iPod is still chugging, I put my lossless CD rips on it for my car.

I use my old 1G iPod shuffle for when I go running, my 60 GB 5G iPod for games and videos. My 2G iPod nano acts as a back up for my music when my iPhone 3G goes flat on road trips.

And finally, I use my 1G iPod touch as a test for apps I download off the iTunes store.

Woah, I just realised I have a lot of iPods!

The first iPod I ever had was the Photo (4G) unfortunatly it broke after a few years and since then I have owned many iPod's but I am in the market for an iPod Photo again because they were definitely my favourite iPod's

Currently I have three iPods:
1.1st gen iPod touch (used daily)
2.2nd gen iPod shuffle(pain to use, forgot how to use:eek:)
3.1st gen iPod mini ( love to use, dead battery unfourtanetly)

Eventually, the Mini's battery will be replaced at it will regain its spot as a backup. My iMac G5+Harman/Kardon Soundsticks 2 do the job well, though:D

I've got a 4 year old 4GB mini, a 3 year old 30GB video and a 2G iPhone.

It goes in cycles, right now I'm not touching the iPhone's iPod for anything but videos. I figured I had £380 worth of iPods, I was going to keep using them, so the iPhone only gets used if I only have a small bag.

My iPod mini is technically meant to be hooked up to the stereo with my favourite songs on shuffle while I take my video (with all my music) with me everywhere, but it never really works like that.

I tend to play favourites with them, right now my video's enjoying a rare spot in the sun. The mini has sentimental value so it tends to get more love, while the video was the silly £220 impulse buy. Even now I'm itching to find a justification for upgrading the mini's memory to a 16GB flash card, but I don't have anyone to give the video to and I don't want to just dump it in a drawer.

I do use all of mine.

I always have my 30gb iPod Video docked in my Bose Sound Dock. I play guitar so I have a lot of songs that I like to play along with in a playlist. I will play the song on the Bose and play along with them. I also travel internationally all the time so I travel with my Shuffle. It is small and i have all my favorite music on it so I don't burn my iPhone battery up. All in all they all get used pretty often.
