No disagreement there.

I am not one of the intended market types. :)

Netbooks are a FAD.

If Apple creates ANYTHING between the MacBook Air and the iPhone, it will be the long-awaited MacTablet.

I actually want the MacTablet to have a 13" screen so that the keyboard is a decent size. None of this ten, seven, or anything in between crap. Either make the keyboard usable with two hands or two thumbs.

To answer the question of this post: I want either a 13 inch Air with a 1440x900 screen or a 10 inch Air with a 1024x768 screen. Less pixel density is just unbearable.

My dream laptop is a 15 inch Macbook Pro/Air which has gotten rid of the optical drive, therefore weighs only 4 pounds, is 0.9" thick or less, with a tapered front side like the Air (easier typing without hitting the sharp edge on the MBP), has >2.0 GHz Dual Core, 4 GB of RAM, just like all the tiny Sony laptops do. Oh yeah, and a 1650x1080 LCD please (like all the Dell and Sony's offer).

Honestly, I think that the smallest I would go is 11" a la the viao TT and TZ. That's the smallest I think I would go for myself without a touchscreen.

BUT, work on getting rid of the bezel. The bezel on my 12" PowerBook is almost half the size of the Air's. And if they need that space for the keyboard, internals, etc. ... wait for it...

I think they should offer a 14" 1440x900 MBA with they same footprint, but smaller bezel!

yes? (I know they won't do it)

I'd rather just have a smaller footprint. A ton of space is wasted on the MBA with that ridiculous bezel. You could shave off perhaps .5" on each side just by restricting it a bit. Same goes for the regular macbook. I'm positive that they have the technology to do so.

If it didn't have the bezel it would be as small as the 12" PowerBook. I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

Second that! (Or maybe a 12")

Personally I'd like a 4:3 aspect ratio to increase the pixelcount (do the math and you'll see why). Not going to happen though.

I'd also like to have higher resolution. I have no problem reading small text. Tell me again, why are Apple working on making OS X resolution independent?

4:3 will not happen

It seems to be a trend: the new MBP's bezel is also fatter than the previous ones. Either they're just out of supply from more matching screens, or it's related to the thinner screen and having to stick heavy glass to it (in the case of the MBP). Some people in a different forum have said they like the fat bezel, I don't.
