I have to say yes, watch an awful lot of You Tube and usually on my iPhone, or my iPad Pro but invariably more so on the phone as it’s usually closer to hand. I tend to watch films on the telly though or the iPad now and then.
To me, watching videos is one of the fundamental features of modern day smart phones. Plus the iPhone makes it damn easy, it’s just the You Tube app is not the best and reloads constantly, thanks google.. and on the iPad Pro it has just crashed when scrolling through the comments!!

I’d have to say I use my iPhone more then any other gadget I own, it’s a 6S that will be swapped for an X at some point soon.

I don't see any advantage for the 8 Plus over the X besides video and 30 minutes more battery life. Most video I watch is on my Apple TV, anything else primarily on my iPad Pro. Personally, I like how video looks fullscreen on my X though.

Sometimes watch some YouTube when on the bike at the gym but generally most video content is done on the iPad as it should be really.

I never watch videos on my iPhone when I'm at home. I have much better options available iPad, PC, etc. I also rarely watch videos on my iPhone when I'm out and about because I'm busy doing other things.

My iPhone is mostly just a phone with the occasional exceptions (checking news, navigation, weather) when I'm out and it's the only device on me. For all that other stuff, I usually wait until I'm home and then use my iPad.

This is why I like small phones and my next phone will most likely be an updated SE (if it ever comes). A small phone plus an iPad is the perfect combination for me.

If I'm "watching with a purpose" - I.E., sitting down to watch Netflix, TV itself (I have DTV NOW, so watching TV on my phone is an option), etc...I virtually NEVER watch on my phone and I don't understand the people that do. I have a 65 inch TV and a 55 inch TV in my house and I want to use them. I don't understand sitting on a couch holding an iPad or iPhone to watch anything lengthy. Sometimes I'll use my iPad or iPhone to watch TV while I'm working outside but that's about it.

But when it comes to Youtube, normally I watch on my phone simply because I'm following a link from twitter/facebook/what have you.

Nope. I have an iPhone and an iPad mini and they are used very differently. The iPhone is only used when I leave the house, and 90% of the time it sits in my pocket. It is only brought out when I need to communicate or quickly look up/record information on the fly. (So for me, having a big screen phone is a waste. I’d much rather have the one-handed usability and small footprint of the SE. I have a philosophy about having as little on me as possible when I’m out and about.) I almost never need or want personal entertainment when I’m out of the house, and on the rarest occasion that I do, the small phone screen is fine. When I am expecting to have down time for consumption, say for a long trip, then I’ll bring my mini. Otherwise, the mini stays at home and is my go-to device for all casual consumption, including short videos, and for all phone tasks, while my iPhone sits charging. For regular shows and movies, I’ll watch on my tv.

I watch Netflix during my lunch break on my X. Otherwise I normally consume videos on my 10.5” IPP and TV.
