I never type it in, but I've always been curious about the subject. I even created this thread a little while back.

Meanwhile, has anyone else noticed that .Mac homepages cannot include www - it's a pain when telling people the address.

It can't...it always goes to the .com since that's the most popular suffix. If you wanted the .org one, you'd have to type out "macrumors.org".
