nice...in my eagerness I just bought and started to play with it. Well this works out just wonderfully!
I already have QuickOffice, but I bought this one as well just cause I do that. I'll try all the best apps in a given category of interest and settle on the best app for my needs. QuickOffice is still better for my needs with it's MobileMe support, and it'll even be better with the future feature of being able to download attachments from emails.
I'll keep tabs on DocsToGo, and if an update makes it better suited to my needs, I'll go with it.

How could they not have iDisk support? It looks like the only way that you can get documents on the phone is through their desktop client. I realize that Apple hasn't been making it easy with email attachments but they should have thought of a better way. They're not even saying that Excel editing will be coming soon and that's not including Poewerpoint editing. At first blush the interface looks better than Quickoffice and some nice features, but I'm wondering why it took them so long to release this?

One way around this is to choose the auto-sync folder to be a folder in your iDisk. I'm syncing my iDisk folder right now. Seems like a nicely polished app, but I agree, they should at least have the option of accessing your iDisk remotely. I don't want to have to sync their desktop app with my iPhone each time I add/edit/change a file on my iDisk, just to make sure I can view it from my phone. There's so many iDisk supporting apps on the AppStore, it can't be that hard for them to implement this as well.
Ah well, hopefully we'll see it in an update.

Also note there are two versions, one of which allows editing of Word attachments in Microsoft Exchange emails.

It may see it in a future version as it's not too hard to make an iDisk app. As it is I see the $4.99 as a student version because they may not necessarily need to send out an attachment from their phone or iPod.
The $9.99 version is far better but only with Exchange/Gmail support. For a MobileMe user who does use it as a business account, neither version is really useful. I would rather have a Dataviz email account with 500 mb of storage just to foward to so I can edit email attachments. Right now I'm going to have to stick with Quickoffice even though I like Documents to Go better from my past experiences. Quickoffice is also driving me bonkers with their lack of edit Office 2007 files.
I wasn't aware that Gmail supported Exchange for mail yet (with contacts and calendars in beta) Has this changed? If not, then I don't see DTG working with Gmail attachments either.
I'm not sure since I'm a MobileMe user but when you configure google contacts and google calendar using Exchange, there is an option there for mail. In any case whenever Gmail supports push on the iPhone, it will more than likely use Exchange. You can set up an email account at mail2web (Exchange Server) and forward your Gmail there so you can download attachments.
Wow, great price! It comes with a free update for Excel editing, making it equivalent to Quickoffice. I'm sure they'll include iDisk support in the future.
My opinion, Quickoffice is much better. I posted in another thread about the lack of font types/sizes in docs to go as well as no support for non english characters.
Also, you need a desktop app to move files from computer to iphone via docs to go whereas quickoffice, you can do it via browser.
and most importantly, the word files i looked at in quickoffice appear better looking then they do in docs to go.
