I've actually restored from 9.1 back to 9.0.2 because of terrible battery life on 5S. This is the only thing 9.0.x surprised me over 8.4.1, specially when enabling low power mode below 20%.

But don't take my experience for granted, it can vary for other devices with other software configurations.

I installed 9.1 the day it came out on my 5S, and my battery life has been much worse than 9.0.2 as well.

I think also the battery is worse in my 5S. On 9.0.2 my battery was approximately 6-7 hours, now I'm only getting 5 hours...

Good job I asked then. My experience with Apple updates has always been worsened battery life, but if you have a bug that needs addressing then update you must. As my old phone had no real showstopper bugs and was returning excellent battery life, I left it on 9.0.1
I've just exchanged my device due to a screen fault and the new one came with 9.0.2 so I'm debating whether to put 9.1 onto it...

I don't even use Facebook, so that isn't a factor in my poor battery life.

Something is causing usage during what should be standby time ever since this update. This morning my phone had been unplugged for 1 hour 14 minutes. I had used it only for a couple tasks (maybe 5 minutes screen time), but the usage time said 1 hour 7 minutes. Battery was at 88%. Needless to say, I was not impressed.

I am about to do a restore in iTunes. Hopefully this will fix the issue...

I had an odd experience yesterday. At about 10:00 AM I noticed my battery showed 28%. I had been talking quite a bit, but nothing out of the ordinary. I plugged it in and 5 minutes later it was back up to 92%. It performed normally the rest of the day. Not sure what that is about.

My 5S has been doing strange things like that as well. A couple times it has dropped 10-15% all at once, but when I restart the phone it goes back up to where it was before. Never did it with 9.0.2 or previous.

It has only been a few hours, but the restore on iTunes seems to maybe have helped. I will post an update in a couple days.

Mine seems worse. But I don't think I've used it enough to make an accurate call yet.

After about 3 days, mine is substantially worse. Several hours worse. I could easily get 9 hours of usage and 20 hours of standby on my 6s before the 20% low battery pop-up. Now I am lucky to get 6 hours of usage with 14 hours of standby before the pop-up. I've done a hard reset. Don't want to restore because of my Apple Watch. Really annoyed. I was having fantastic battery life.

I'm on my second cycle on 9.1, and battery life seems to be a little better than 9.0.2 on my iPhone 6s+ 64GB Samsung chip.

FWIW, I did a DFU restore and set up as new.

I would love to do a restore - But because of all my health and apple watch I can't. I always set up my new iPhone as new, but I couldn't upgrading from my 6 because I couldn't transfer health and activity information. Im really shocked Apple has yet to create a way to transfer only that data over through iCloud or even a secondary encrypted iTunes backup only for health and activity data.

Battery life seems to be a little better. Haven't kept much of an eye on it though since it was already really good.

Facebook not issue here. Been sat in Starbucks for 40 mins on 4G on browser and dropped 7% this on 9.02 would of dropped 1-2% tops. I am only on macrumors yet Safar is on 9.1 is killing the battery.

It will be interesting to see if that behavior continues. They could be having a wifi issue or your carrier a cellular issue. That's what makes battery issues (and conversations) so frustrating... It's so situational. I'm bathed in a strong wifi/cellular signal all day and didn't have an issue on my 5. A coworker at a different location with weak signals for both and can't make it through the day on his 5. But he does use FB and I don't so we'll see what happens next.

That is a classic issue related to the battery itself.

That "something" will most likely not be iOS 9 (unless it is a relog of an online account of some kind). Check your usage and see.

40 mins 4G browsing 1-2% tops? Not on any 6+ or 6S+ I've ever owned! The 7% sounds much more usual.

I was actually having some battery issues immediately after doing an OTA update to 9.1 on my 6s Plus. I went from around 12h worth of usage down to a little over 9h on the day I updated and the following day.

With that being said, I was going to wait it out but decided to try some things as I would downgrade back to 9.0.2 if it persisted: it's around 3h of battery life after all!

I decided to download 9.1 in iTunes and I did a DFU upgrade (not restore) followed by a "Reset all settings" and that seems to have fixed the issue. Didn't lose anything and my battery life is back up to 12-13h with my normal use pattern.

Post screenshots of your battery usage

Since taking my old 6 back my battery has been hell of a lot better. Before I'd be lucky to get 3 hours usage/standby out of it now as you can see its a lot better.
