My First Thread! (Random topic isn't it?)

The title of the thread says it all. Just curious. I used to be on it and I barely used it because all my friends were people I saw and talked to everyday. Hence, deletion. Sure it enables you to "meet" new people, but that's why we invented bars and alcohol (YES!).

I have one that I use to keep in touch with a few friends that "don't have time to answer emails" or are really into the "cultural" aspect of it. I do hate the whole overly complex layouts that just about everyone seems to use. It's like the HTML equivalent of the Cold War over there, just because you can add more code and graphics and sounds and movies doesn't mean you should. I'm trying to get my friends over to twitter just because that's what I really want to know from them, what's up...with out all the drama.

I hate it. My girl thing set one up for me a week or so ago and I'm already getting tired of it. I wish MySpace was like the rest of the internets - porn and Macs.

I'm not sure if I have an opinion on it as an entity. It's a bit like the internet in that some of it is useful and some is rubbish. I use it to check out the music of new bands I've read about. My daughter uses it to keep in touch with some friends.

myspace is like a massive support group, that really gets annoying. You go to college and need to find a spot in the computer lab to do some schoolwork, and its full of people using myspace with people hovering over them. Its disgusting.

I hate it...

My roomate sits on myspace when he doesn't go "clubbing" from about 11:00 p.m. usually to about 6:00 a.m. No joke. How do i know this well because I play halo from about that same time frame... perhaps one could categorize these two as the same but we all know myspace blows and people are psycho about that place.

I mean they treat myspace like it is some urgent business email.

"Hey Jim how was class"

"Oh. Good I was just checking my myspace the whole time."

"Oh cool cool. Hey well I'm gonna go have a social life tonight do you want to come?"

"Oh um... well I don't know see i've got to talk to some people on myspace tonight, but if that clears up that sounds good. Other wise I think I'll go clubbing."

So maybe I'm being a drama queen but I have yet to me one person who isn't that annoying "I am on myspace and all I do is club, got to concerts and act like I am so cool for not being a jock. Oh but I'm not Emo or Gothic even though I flat iron my hair while my friend is blow drying his all while wearing Ramones t-shirts; both of us."

Rant...

EDIT: I don't remember what I said that now has the *****... Trying to think... I know it wasn't anything bad but was taking as bad... hmm...

Also never said it was not a bad thing to not be a jock just the myspacers I always meet are like the south park episode of conformists if anyone remembers that. Where they are drinking coffee all the time.

Oh also.. Myspace is also just a reason for girls to be sl***. No longer do they need Cancun or a fraternity. No now all they need is a digital camera and a computer. And if they have a Mac all they really need is a MBP or an iMac. and they are sending pictures far and wide to anyman with a six pack... wow I sound bitter...

Oh and another thing. My roommate lands in L.A. From London. First day he does this.

"Hello darling I'm here from London would you want to show me around Hollywood." - (his name).

He Then copied that sentence. Clicked on the browse feature for our zip code. And picked out every single girl he found slightly attractive and sent that to them...

I despise it. What is the point of letting the whole world know about you?? The people that i want to know about me already do so there is no point in putting it up on a website. The sites are full of crap too. Who needs to put 10000 photos up, videos, music, didgy graphics and overload them. That one girl got raped meeting someone on myspace, surely that shows that paedophiles are on it, looking out for people.
Shut it down

I added more because i thought of more.... but thanks I thought I was alone... no one but me and my friend find myspace annoying. His girlfriend who since joining myspace has become a huge clubber. She now is trying to convince him that he and her should go clubbing all the time...
Yeah for myspace

Yea I'm glad to see I'm not alone either in my hating of myspace. I like what you added Poppe, and what's sad is that it's all true. It all goes back to Myspace Ruins Lives

Yes it sure does... though my girlfriend is starting to ask about MacRumors... She is starting to say things like "if someone payed you 100 dollars could you stay off macrumors for a week?" This is not good because I am not a well trained boyfriend yet and do not no the consequences to the questions that then come after: "Could you not see me for a whole year if someone payed you 1 million dollars?"

i hate myspace. <3 facebook!!!!!!!!

tho, just because i hate it, doesn't mean i don't need to use it sometimes.

it's sooo erratic and messy. i hate how they let people customize it, then throw adds all over it, then have annoying mp3's and videos show up everywhere.

I'm not alone!

One of those poor bastards who hates it yet has his very own page! Sad, but true.

Every now and then my, "myspace-whore" [girlfriend], sends me a lovely [stupid] comment about something very special [something we talked about last week that I still don't care about] and I think it's great! [ridonkulous!]

And people say MMORPG's are bad for you. This is just the new age of digital nerd. Now the socialites and jocks are bothering us in our own territory!

If you want to talk just call me or write me a letter on Uldum. Sheesh, it isn't that hard.

To Poppe - LOL! I have my moments when I make perfectly good rational sense

To madog - No you're not alone! There are plenty of us, just wait until it's morning! And you're right, those jock SOBs are invading our space! Must.Take.Back.Domain

Does Anybody Out There Dislike/Hate Myspace?
You don't have to look very hard to find people who hate it. There are three types of people: those who have Myspace pages, those who hate Myspace, and those who have pages but also hate it. I'm the last. A friend convinced me to join, but honestly the site's worthless. You don't meet anyone of any substance. Or I could put it this way: there isn't anyone on Myspace whom I'd like to meet (exceptions being some of my friends who use it).

Myspace is the AOL of the 21st century. (thank gods they don't have their own internet service)
