Looking at the leaks, does anyone think there might be two slim bezel phones launching. One with IPS LCD but fingerprint sensor on the back and other one with OLED but sensor on front embedded below display?

Now does that make any sense to you? to sell two completely different phones?, i believe the 7S is for 2017, and the iphone 8 is for 2018.

Makes sense in that apple can sell the fingerprint sensor on the back that is disliked by conventional iPhone users for the existing status quo cost of $649 or $699 with the appeal of slim bezel. Apple can keep the costs low as they can still use proven and saturated lcd tech and touch-id sensor.

There can even be a plus model at $749/$799

The oled model can start at $849/$899 with oled panel and under display touch-id.

I know it doesn't work on some levels but I think there might be a chance.

No. I expect the 7s to use a similar case as the 7. I think Apple has all hands on deck with the OLED model. So an all new case/design for the 7s seems improbable. Also Apple is going to want to put some "freshness" distance between the presumably new much higher priced OLED model and the 7s. Keeping the 7s "as is" this year fits the bill.

I'm not following your point at all. The "iPhone 8" will likely have three models, 4.7/5.5 LED and the 5.8 OLED. The LED models will retain similar features with minor modifications and the OLED will obviously be the big release.

Apart from some rumours, how is this likely to happen? Have there been any component leaks this year already? I might have missed them.

Not necessarily component leaks per se. But their have been several renders and unverified schematics leaked showing the Touch ID sensor to remapped to the back of the iPhone and the dual camera will be vertical versus horizontal.

Got ya, but renderings don't mean a thing to me. They're just speculation. Until we get to see some components that differ from the current form factor i would describe anything but a 7s as unlikely, personally.

Actually, MacRumors has reported renders in the past That have been completely accurate. They reported a render for the iPhone 5 and for the iPhone 6, both were factual of what the actual iPhone depicted when it released. So not at all times are renders false. However, they can't be considered legitimate until verified by Apple.

For right now rumors, only the 8 will have slim bezels and new features and come in one size only. The 7s will look like the 7. The iPhone SE will be upgrade to the A10 and Touch ID, idaptic engine.

I seriously think most people will go for the ip8 right away, my guess, the price difference between the 7S and 8 may be around $100 at its max. The 8 will look the new technology phone, the 7S still look yesterday's. not much in price difference, the 8 will be the champion. My predictions

I'm curious as to whether Apple will continue selling the 6s or 7 as the $549.99 phone. Not much would differentiate the 7s from the 7, so they might keep the 6s.

With the recent update to 128 gb in iPhone SE. I highly doubt SE will be updated anytime soon.

Not a chance. One will be just like the 7 and months later, if we are lucky, we will see the 8

So it the 7S definitely happening again because I thought it was 2 iPhone 8's and a special edition? I so hope it's the latter.

Since Samsung and other OEM and ODM Android manufactures went with thin bezels and OLED the only logical conclusion is that Apple will have to follow suit. If they don't they will start loosing market share and profits. It's definitely going to happen. Just not sure about the next few quarters.

I believe Apple will only release iPhone 8, with bezel less design. Whether they'll sell two or three version of it is still unclear, but if they're going to sell a 7s it will be just like the 7 with a new chip and maybe an improved camera. Otherwise they wouldn't call it 7s, new design = new name

I certainly hope so. Those chunky bezels should have been long gone by now.

i predict iPhone 7S and iPhone Pro. Just like the iPad Pro is 100€ more for no reason since updates always had improvements in the past (obviously) without raising the price.

Of course there's going to be an iPhone 8. Samsung has the S8, and if you think Apple is going to be one number below that for over a year you're out of your mind. Apple will have both the 7s and the 8.

Updated LTE support in the 7 vs the 6s, so there is the incentive there to sell the 7 vs the 6s. Phase out the phones with the old headphone port.

And with the dispute with Qualcomm, dropping the model that only uses qualcomm.
