Now does that make any sense to you? to sell two completely different phones?, i believe the 7S is for 2017, and the iphone 8 is for 2018.
I'm not following your point at all. The "iPhone 8" will likely have three models, 4.7/5.5 LED and the 5.8 OLED. The LED models will retain similar features with minor modifications and the OLED will obviously be the big release.
Apart from some rumours, how is this likely to happen? Have there been any component leaks this year already? I might have missed them.
Not necessarily component leaks per se. But their have been several renders and unverified schematics leaked showing the Touch ID sensor to remapped to the back of the iPhone and the dual camera will be vertical versus horizontal.

Got ya, but renderings don't mean a thing to me. They're just speculation. Until we get to see some components that differ from the current form factor i would describe anything but a 7s as unlikely, personally.

For right now rumors, only the 8 will have slim bezels and new features and come in one size only. The 7s will look like the 7. The iPhone SE will be upgrade to the A10 and Touch ID, idaptic engine.
Looking at the leaks, does anyone think there might be two slim bezel phones launching. One with IPS LCD but fingerprint sensor on the back and other one with OLED but sensor on front embedded below display?

I'm curious as to whether Apple will continue selling the 6s or 7 as the $549.99 phone. Not much would differentiate the 7s from the 7, so they might keep the 6s.
