Does anyone actually expect a ui overhaul with iOS 6?

Mountain Lion will be about making the Mac interface more consistent with iOS. Why would Apple spend time and money on that only to break it by overhauling the iOS UI?

I think that the UI in iOS should be a little more customizable. I just think that Android users can customize their devices a little more than iOS users. I do NOT think that Android is better than iOS, but it has more customization. Having said that I still think iOS is great and runs a lot smoother than Android. It is a lot more consumer friendly than Android. But in the end I think Apple will add some cool new features to iOS to make it more customizable, but still run smoother than Android.

iO5 is boring, so was 4, 3... and iO6 will be boring too, same ol' ____ in every release.

The only real revolutionary change Apple could make to make iOS less boring and more useful is to allow jailbreak-like customization. Obviously a ton of iOS users are interested in jailbreaking so that's a clear indication that they're disatisfied with vanilla iOS.

My two cents:

Moveable icons similar to android so that for example you could put folders in all 4 corners of the screen if you want.

An extra row up top where you have a constant widget bar of your choice or quick toggles (assuming the new design rumors are true)

Live tile esque icons. Essentially they will make them larger and have them update in a similar manner to windows phone. Anyone that has used a windows phone knows this is a nice feature.

These are probably all wrong but just some things I think would be nice additions. Of course additional Siri functionality is a given.

I think they need to do something with the UI. Change the look of the icons or something. That ugly Youtube tv set icon needs updating. I don't care if they made the calendar icon change from red,blue, yellow etc. Maybe not lock everything to a grid or let me hide things I don't want without having to jailbreak

I wouldn't mind having weather on my lock screen or other things that I want to see at a quick glance.

There's not a whole lot that you could probably do unless they're going to implement a card type system but I think it's time for a refresh.

I may be missing the point about reminders but I think that should be in the Calendar app.


At the very least the iPad should get a refresh. Wasting a lot of screen real estate
