I dont think it really looks outdated, don't see what more could be done TBH, change the background in settings is about all, but thats not a game changer for me, if I am in the settings I like it to be clutter free with little to distract me from the task I am trying to achieve, both iOS and ICS work well in this respect. If i am on an "app" page I just want to quickly identify the app I require, changing the tile pic would only cause unneeded confusion in the beginning for long term users IMHO. I use wallpapers to make my home screen pleasing to my eye, and have apps or widgets to give me information. I keep my screens clutter free whether I am using iOS or ICS, others think differently and have different priorities from a home screen.

But i understand that Apple has a reason.

When you grow up someday you'll actually be about getting isht done and you won't have time to sit and smile about the gradient behind your settings.

Attacking someone for their taste shows you're the one with growing up to do.

i love iOS to bits (mostly due to its apps) but i've gotta agree that it does look a bit dated.

i loathe the menu pop ups with a passion. reminds me of;

windows phone > android > iOS in OS strictly from a design perspective imho. gradient menu buttons etc are so web 2.0.

While I do agree that it looks outdated to me, I realize my opinion isn't completely rational. From a business and logical standpoint, until Apple can figure out how to revolutionize the GUI, it is much more advantageous to keep the current layout than switch instead.

When you grow up someday you'll actually be about getting isht done and you won't have time to sit and smile about how heavy your phone feels/the fact that the majority of the casing consists of glass.

Fixed :)
