iPhone X Does anyone else feel that they couldn't go back to a less than 6.5" screen?

My usage has changed quite a bit over the last few years. As soon as the larger phones were released I was all over it, the 6plus, the 6sPlus and the 7Plus and then jumped to the X and now the Xs.
It is far from my main device anymore.
I can understand how some may have the want/need for a larger screen and that just isn't me anymore. The times have-a changed my friends.

Before I had the X I didn’t think I could get used to anything smaller than a plus sized phone yet I got the X and it was smaller. People adapt to what they have.
I could go smaller but definitely NOT narrower. The screen from the Plus phones is perfect for me, just need to remove the forehead & chin making the phone easier to use one handed and more pocketable.
What I didn’t like about the X was it’s width. The length was fine but it was too skinny. Glad to be getting a proper keyboard again!
Kind of disappointed that I'm getting just about the same battery life out of my Max as the X I'm coming from. Other than the added screen size, I was expecting longer battery life that I'd experience with the Plus phones compared to the 4.7in models but it's really not that much better in real world use compared to my X.
Tried the XS Max in store and it's definitely not for me. It's too big for comfortable one-handed use (which I find myself doing a lot when out) and to me the larger screen gives few tangible benefits. You can fit what, a few more lines of text on screen and view videos and games a bit larger. If I need a bigger screen I'd rather use an iPad.
Someone with larger hands might find the XS too small but for me it's the perfect form factor. XR might end up being a good halfway solution between the two.

I never thought there be a time where I would appreciate a 6.5 iPhone. I remember when the 5.5 iPhone 6 Plus launched and I thought it was ridiculously large. Now, I really wouldn’t want anything less than 6.4 display for a phone. Strange how we change our preferences as tech evolves.
Just sent back my X today. Felt so small in my hands. Glad to have the Xs Max. It’s my first ‘plus sized’ phone. I was worried I’d be annoyed by its size, but it is so perfect. I can use it one handed, and my brain feels less constrained when processing the information on the screen. Have no desire to go back to a smaller phone now.

it seems small already. reminds me of when i got my 75 inch oled tv. about 2 days later i was thinking...it aint that big lol
I got the 6 instead of the 6 Plus because of the "huge size" and "not being able to use it one-handed". Over the next year, I realized that I never used the 6 one-handed, and upgraded to the 6s Plus, then the 7 Plus, and now the Max. When I hold my daughter's 8, it feels like a toy now. I too cannot envision going back.
I also bought a white 6.1" iPhone XR which is a great phone. The only problem is that Apple doesn't make a leather case for it, so I'll have to get used to the Otterbox gel case I bought. There doesn't seem to be a huge amount of difference between it and the Max in terms of weight and size overall but I'm happy with it.

I disagree. I have a 12" MacBook, an 10.5" iPad Pro and my 2 phones. I can quite happily consume content on any of them.
For writing and forums, though, the MacBook wins out.

I went from the 6S Plus to the Max and thought initially it was perfect - same size and all. However, after a while to me the Max just felt more bulky. Even with the thinnest case, it was too heavy for me. I know - come on what is an ounce? Shouldn’t be a big deal but that extra weight just put it over the top. I had to keep changing how I held it due to my pinkies being sore and dented. LOL, right? But true. I still would have kept it if not for poor connectivity problems that Apple wasn’t able to solve. So i returned and ended buying a new last year’s X. I’m a happy camper now. The phone actually works in all ways and hits a sweet spot for me.
Screen size alone doesn’t matter , need to consider length and breadth , i don’t mind passing a phone if the length is more and is very narrow . I still phone XS max width can b increased an half an inch and decrease the length by same margin
Next iphone 7.5' screen and you all gona say "omg,the MAX looks soook tiny,how could i have lived with it".
No, 6.5" is the maximum they'll go. A phone has to fit into a pocket.
I don't notice my XR as being any of an inferior experience with its 6.1" screen since starting this thread. I just think that sub 6" phones have had their day. There will always be someone who wants an old fashioned 4" screen but they are in a burgeoning minority.

I started with the IPhone 4 and upgraded every 18 months to 2 years like clockwork. My most recent iPhone was the 7+ and I really loved that phone. I refused to even consider an upgrade to the X simply due to the size of the phone itself and the 8+ although a great phone from the reviews just didn’t offer enough to make the switch. Once I got to see the XS Max I knew this was worth the jump. I’ve had mine for about a month now and could never consider going back to a smaller screen. This phone is absolutely amazing.
