Absolutely! What's more, I should imagine the iMac's foot is not made from Aluminium but Duraluminium which is extremely strong and - particularly when anodised - lightweight, making it the ideal material for that use.
 
Also Aluminum is very good for heat, i.e. computer temps, radiators, intercoolers for turbo cars.:cool:
 
Billet aluminum is good for certain things like swingarm pivots, brake calipers, triple clamps, etc... imo.

LOL But not for people that get upset every time they see a new scratch on it.
chromed aluminum is 10 times better at resisting scratches.
