If you take your watch off it won't be activated - I guess they have portable NFC reader. Hopefully someone can weigh in on this.

In the UK all the drive-thru restaurants have a portable reader on a long cable that they hand out the window to you, it's also used for normal chip and pin transactions.
I'd use ApplePay all the time if my main shopping stores took it! I love it when I can use it, especially as someone whose wife has had her debit/credit card number stolen 3 times. It's fast and I know that the token is useless once it's been transmitted.
Problem is no one here takes it but Walgreens and usually when I'm shopping there I'm using an FSA card (towards med insurance/no tax) which doesn't support ApplePay.

My card issuers only started allowing their cards to be added to Apple Pay on the 11 September. I used it yesterday for the first time and was very impressed with the speed of how it worked, and the lady who served me was too. I will definitely be using it again as its faster than inserting the credit card into the terminal, entering PIN, waiting for the payment to be accepted and faster than paying cash.
I found out yesterday that anywhere that accepts contactless payments will accept Apple Pay. Most of the shops I use regular have contactless terminals and I expect this to increase as time goes on. I only wish there wasn't a £30 limit on Apple Pay, its one of the most secure ways to pay and shouldn't carry a limit in my opinion.

now that discover is finally on apple pay.... I plan to use it any place I shop that takes it! the local grocery store I shop at takes it! (went there this morning just so I could use apple pay for the first time! woot!) i'll plan my Saturday shopping trip to go to trader joes, firehouse subs and maybe even macy*s!
