Wait weren't you the one saying every Watch should come with a sport band?

Note:

I did not say "packaged"

Even with sports bands I thing it would be dumb to pre-package them.

What are Apple going to do?

10,000 with green bands
10,000 with white bands
10,000 with black bands

All pre packed, how dumb would that be from a manufacturing, marketing and retail scenario.

It would only make sense to have them separate.

You buy the body and you select the strap, even if it's rubber, and them come as individual items.

When I was talking about coming with those anyway, I meant you got them by default even if you ordered a luxury strap, you didn't lose them

Luxury straps were in addition to the rubber ones.

The packaging is a separate issue.

I can't believe apple will pre package things.

I imagine what is going to happen is that you will buy a watch face (in one of 2 sizes and 1 of 6 colors) and it will not come with a strap. Then you will buy the strap or straps you want separately. The straps will have different tiers of pricing. There are way too many combinations to sell you the watch and the strap in one, to predict which combinations are best to produce. It also means the watch will cost more that $349. It will be that plus the strap cost, which given Apple's accessory pricing, will be at least $400.
Thinking outside of the box... You don't need to put the strap in the box...
