Doubt the Mini is going anywhere. It's one of the major gateways into Apple for people who are coming from other OS'. The future models will be more compatible anyway.
What's your problem with Siri? I love the idea. Now I will be able to switch off my music, ask Siri to add an appointment to the calendar, open calendar, edit 'purple pineapple monkey pants' to 'Susan - cut & colour', switch music back on. Now that's progress.
Maybe it's over for Siri.
The Mac mini is marketed toward bringing in customers from other operating systems, namely Windows, that don't want to pay for an iMac.
Perhaps it is used for that purpose, but I doubt that is its intended market.Actually the mini is used primarily for home entertainment systems.
Of the 8 minis I own, use, or personally support, not one of them is used for an entertainment system. I don't believe that your assertion is correct.]Actually the mini is used primarily for home entertainment systems.
Source for this and how much above 50% are used in HT's? Or is this just an assumption?Actually the mini is used primarily for home entertainment systems.

I wouldn't rely too much on Google search hits, people regularly manipulate webpage meta/data to increase page hits (thank the advertisers) even though the meta/data has nothin in common with the actual page content. Facts seem to have taken a back seat to popularity in our internet age."mac mini business" gets about 6,050,000 results on google.
"mac mini media" gets 8,720,000 results.
People use Siri?![]()

Un scientific results and all but meaningless since most Mac minis are probably used as general purpose (web surfing/email) home PC's."mac mini business" gets about 6,050,000 results on google.

I don't use it much because I am not usually in a place where I can speak out loud. I want a mini and wouldn't miss Siri.People use Siri?![]()
I have 2 at home, one as a desktop, one as a server, one on my desk at work, and the rest all do server-type things at work. They're great computers.8 Minis is impressive. I have 4x Minis here which I thought was a lot!
2007 Mini for work
2009 Mini for Win10
2010 Mini for television
2012 for home desktop
Or simply plug in a pair of EarPodsMeh, have not used Siri on iPhone, so the Mac version is another feature that can be disabled. I'm sure Siri will work if you connect a USB mic to the mini or a Thunderbolt Display etc
Or simply plug in a pair of EarPods
Going by the logic, it would've been over for Mac Mini when FaceTime was releasedNo mic, no speakers, can't run Siri, it's over for the Mini.
