Mine was around 94%. Took roughly 1.5 hours to transfer the data from my Mini 5 to 7. Here's to the 0 battery cycle gang! How long can we hold out?! :p

Why on earth doesn’t every device get that with iOS 18?

It seems like the absolute definition of a pure software feature
"Seems" being the operative word. There isn't any monetary reason so Apple knows something we don't.

There is no monetary reason? How about "it would increase the battery longevity of iPads, and battery is one of the main reasons why people upgrade, so why give it to older iPads..." as I mentioned above...

Both of my M2 iPad Airs have the 80 percent charging limit option. So does my new Mini that arrived today. I‘ll try using the 80 percent option on the Mini (I do on the Airs) - just to find out how long the battery charge will last for me.

BTW, I have been using the 80 percent option on my iPhone 15 Plus since I bought it new a year ago. Battery health is 100 percent and the phone shows fewer than 50 full charging cycles - despite my charging it to some extent everyday.

But… I have to wonder sometimes. More than once, the phone has charged to 100 percent despite it being set for 80. And there have been other times when the phone indicates it is charged to 80 percent - then switches instantly to showing 100 percent charged as soon as I turn off the 80 percent charging option.

Odd I never used battery life as a reason to upgrade, from reading here seems many upgrade to often to have battery issues. Again doubtful it’s just software but no one here is in the room to please continue.

Never on any device?
Wow. Lucky

I would literally still be using my first generation AirPods if their batteries hadn’t gone full potato

Very frustrating there was no way to get new batteries for them because they work perfectly fine still

My mini five gets like half the battery life that it used to sadly

I may still get it replaced, but I’ve got a ding in one of the corners and I’m worried they’re gonna use that as a reason to not want to do it

Yeah, that makes sense too. I don't understand what the battery limiting, especially on an iPad, whether it will have any noticeable longevity vs charging/keeping it back up to 100%.

Strange my iPad mini's manufacture date was June 2024. So it was manufactured a while ago and only just released or is this just the battery manufacture date?
Yes, it has the 80% charge limit.
