I previously had the ReMarkable 2 but didn't get on with it, mainly because it doesn't have a backlight and I found it only useful in a good light. I like to "doodle" while watching TV and when in bed so just could't use it. I also think it's very overpriced for what it is.

I bought the Kindle Scribe and really liked it but again couldn't justify the price so returned it. However I do miss it and am considering perching again. I feel it needs future upgrades. Also, the pricing structure is very cleaver with it only being £30/$30 more to double the storage. I feel the 64Gb is the way to go...

I have been trying to note take on my iPad's and although not as nice a writing experience as on the Scribe it is "doable". For value for money, for me, the iPad wins hands down. It does far more than the scribe and although not as good a writing experience if I had to choose one it'd be the iPad. Still thinking of that Scribe though.....!!

On my short list...

  1. Boox Note Air 2
  2. Remarkable 2
  3. Kindle Scribe
Although the Scribe is greatly limited in note taking functionality, the build quality and ereading experiences are great. I'm only considering it because it'll be the cheapest of the 3 so I can test out how well an eink tablet would work for me... and if it doesn't, I'm sure that my wife will take it. (as she did with the Oasis that I bought... I asked her to try it out to see how well it works... and 2 years later, she's still "testing" it. :D)

User of the Remarkable 2 and love it. Use it for all of my note taking and that's it. It's the one device I have that is used for only one thing and does not distract me. Replaced mountains of notebooks and the writing experience on it IMHO is like no other device out there. Battery life is awesome and pen does not need charged.

where hip is spoken
Amazon is running a pretty good sale on the Scribe and even better with bundles...
Here's an example:

It's pretty difficult to resist, but I'll wait for the next deal, or Prime Day sale.

Amazon is running another good sale. This time I couldn't resist (especially after the latest firmware update).
I'll post a review once I've received it and have had some time to play around with it.
