Both people who believe they are not superstitious and people who believe they are, should, I believe, understand two things. Firstly, it is not up to us to be superstitious or not - the non-superstitious have not prevented any superstition and the superstitious have not give superstition to themselves. Both groups are the same as they are equally powerless regarding what they believe or not believe. Secondly, as superstition exists as dual words, the non-superstitious should understand they nevertheless are superstitious. If you want to know how, try to replace the words “lucky” and “unlucky” with, for example, ”happy” and “unhappy”. You may not believe you are superstitious, but you do believe at times you are happy or unhappy. That’s reason number two why the superstitious and the non-superstitious are the same - superstition exists only as dual words and dual words happen also to the non-superstitious.
