For what it's worth (I know, not much), I was a bit confused by Applejuiced's tone in this thread. When I read his first post in the thread, I thought I missed something. Re-read the OP. Never did figure out the undercurrent of anger. Oh, well.

AJ wasn't angry. He was just relating facts as he saw them. He is direct (blunt) and economical in his choice of words and that can often be interpreted as anger or an attack if you are so inclined to believe.

You'll know right away if he's actually angry. You probably don't want to be there when that happens though.

My wife is the same so I recognize it when I see it in others.

He's got no issues with the OP.

Pretty much:D
No probs with the op.
I'm just straight forward and blunt at times.
I'd pay for the op's update if that works for him and makes him happy. Not really any reason to argue about anything, just stated my thoughts on jb app devs.
Without them us and even Apple would be out in the cold.
They brought lots of innovation and influence on the iPhone since the original jb iPhone with installer.app and going forward...

Go ahead and send me that dollar since you've still somehow got it stuck so deep in your brain that my post had anything to do with the money. I'll PM you with my paypal address.

It's nice of you to stand up for both sides but you may want to take a look back at his post history before justifying his post. He has quite the knack for demeaning new members and starting arguments for no reason.

Manners and tact are really pretty simple concepts to grasp. I think they're pretty essential when you're dealing with people you don't know and language barriers to boot. I would think he'd have a hold of that with how long he's been a member here.

All that aside, I'm surprised this thread hasn't been wastelanded yet. Whole lot of useless bickering after the issue was resolved.

I can't justify any of the terrible posts and comments I've made here myself (and there are a lot), but I can try to explain myself.

That's what I was doing there. Explaining. Not defending or justifying. Just as I was trying to explain to him your side of the matter in earlier posts.

That's my only part in this and I will just leave it at that.

Sounds good to me!

How's the new phone/carrier treating you? :)

It is treating me VERY well. It's true that I have mainly 4G at home and that if I intend to do anything intensive with my phone I need to turn WiFi on. But, outside the house I have fast LTE everywhere.

I even did a 4G speed test on purpose a week ago and it was faster than Sprint's LTE in the same location!

I'm comfortable with having to eat WiFi at home when the rest of the time I'm on fast LTE.

Not that I NEED it to be fast, but it's there. Unlike Sprint, where I never knew if I'd have it from place to place.

And phone calls, our most important use of our phones are solid now. No more issues.

Overall, I am extremely happy with switching.

You must really be in the boonies. Wifi is definitely sufficient especially with the major carriers activating wifi calling. 4G isn't all that bad either. Go back a few years and that was the fastest we had.

I've been trying to get my girlfriend away from Sprint but they're still demanding she turn in her phone AND pay several hundred dollars to get off the iPhone for Life contract she's on. They don't even offer that one anymore.

It would have happened this past week but the AT&T store we chose didn't have the model she wanted and she didn't want to spend the day chasing phones after we had spent too long in the carrier stores figuring out all the cancellation/transfer details.

LOL! Boonies! No, no. No boonies here. :D

I absolutely hate small towns. I grew up rural, 30 minutes drive down a freeway to the nearest mall or bookstore. Or major chain restaurant. Five minutes drive to the grocery store. As a teenager this sucked extremely as all my friends lived far away from me. The phrase "the sidewalks are rolled up at 5pm" would have been appropriate if the small town I lived in had sidewalks. It's rural when you have septic tanks and not sewer infrastructure.

When I got the chance to move to Phoenix, AZ I took it. Now I can walk to the grocery store if I choose and the closest mall is no more than five minutes.

The problem here, I am told is a certain corridor of coverage (that I happen to live in) for T-Mobile. North of Camelback and south of Indian School Road between 91st Ave and 75th Ave is the problem area. But I just live there. Everywhere else is great. I've heard rumors that upgrades will be happening here soon. I tend to believe that far more than I ever would with Sprint. But as coverage and speeds are great out of the house I have no complaints!

If your girlfriend is willing to go to T-Mobile, T-Mobile will eat her lease payments and option buyout fee. They will also credit her some on the phone she currently has.

T-Mobile also has the coverage guarantee. If she can't use her new phone, T-Mobile will eat a significant portion of the new lease payments, unlock her phone and let her go so she can take the phone anywhere she wants.

Assuming of course, T-Mobile would work for her in her area.

I should have clarified from the start that I have NO issue paying for a good tweak and I'm happy to shell out a buck for Shortcuts.

It just seemed strange that the package popped up in my upgrades tab as an "Available Update" then refused to update unless I paid rather than putting out a premium/lite package combo.

**** Edited thread title to better illustrate my issue
well here is my take on that and its this. When ever you get a new tweak payed or free it doent last long. Either it cant be updated for a new firmware, or the develop

You're the one arguing actually, bickering and keep posting off topic.
I'm not here to please you or seek your acceptance of my posts.
Just stating my opinion whether you seem to like it, agree with it or not.
Supporting the JB devs and its up to a particular dev to charge for his work if he wants to that's all.
And yes that seems totally right to me and its not shady.
Have a wonderful day:)

I understand the OP's pain.
Even the iTunes app store has pulled this shenanigans. I download an app (paid or free) and down the road the app is "updated" and either features are removed and/or ads are inserted requiring a purchase for removal. I have approximately 90 or so apps that I won't update because of this. I used to confuse 'update' with 'upgrade'. I have learned many times it simply isn't.

My story on a dev is a little different. When iOS 7 rolled out he updated the alarm clock app of his that I use every night for my bedside clock.

Only I was on iOS 6 at the time and the dipwad specifically said in the update notes that the update was for iOS 6 AND 7. So, imagine my surprise when the app WILL NOT OPEN!

So I emailed him. I mentioned the specifics but also included the fact that I was jailbroken. His reply basically stated that since I was jailbroken he would refuse to assist me.

Some time later I noticed a new update for the app in the app store and that he had corrected his info to note that the update was iOS 7 only.

So I got angry. At the time I had a 3GS which was running iOS 6 jailbroken and just happened to have the last version of the app that was iOS 6 capable. I zipped the damn thing up in iFile, put it on Dropbox. Unzipped it into the exact same location on my iPhone 5 (after deleting the old version) and rebooted my phone.

Voila! I had rolled back. I explained this in great detail to him, thanked him for his complete lack of customer service and informed him that this was the first and last app on any platform I would ever purchase from his company.

To his credit, he did respond but only to acknowledge the fact that he was aware that I had rolled back.

Since then I continue to update the app as there are updates (because I bought it and it's still my favorite bedside clock app) but I still refuse to even look at any of his other apps. He'll never get another penny from me.

Another workaround is to download the app again via iTunes on your 6.1.3 iPhone. Delete it from your computer's iTunes and then sync your iPhone using the iTunes dropdown menu: File > Devices > Transfer Purchases. This will then redownload the older version into your computer's iTunes allowing you to then download that version on any other iDevice. Of course it'll always have that update badge in your iTunes (both computer and iPhone).

For example, I always thought the CAMERA+ app was better back when it was available with iOS4. I have an iPhone 4 with iOS4.2.6
I downloaded CAMERA+ on this iPhone (after the popup window declaring there is a compatible version for me- having purchased it already in the past). It is then downloaded with the iOS 7.0 version on my computer deleted.

After transferring as described above the app back into my iTunes on my Mac I now have that lower version available for my iPhone6S. (Even the older apps icon transfers over.)

Here is that app (blending well on my iPhone6S with the jailbroken theme, 'IOS 6 COMPLETE":

Again, this is the iOS4 version of CAMERA+ running now on a 9.0.2 iPhone, working flawlessly I might add.

Oh yeah. This is something I would have done back then if it had been available.

At the time though the App store wasn't allowing older downloads as this was around the release of iOS 7.

That iPhone 5 of mine is now on iOS 9.0.1 and has not been my daily driver for about ten months. The 3GS I had went to a friend when they moved away about a year and a half ago.

My complaint about the app wasn't so much that I wanted the iOS 6 version as it was that the dev did not note that the update (at the time) was iOS 7 only and the app store allowed the update. It was a shady way for him to get his users to move to iOS 7.

But as my various phones have had higher versions of iOS over the years I've upgraded the app as I went along. Had I got what I wanted and was able to stay on iOS 6 because the hardware did not fail then I never would have updated it again.
