Blame her and force her to remember the changed password. Seriously. My sister changed the password to my iPad without telling anyone and then forgot it. I was able to use Touch ID to get in, but then my sister got it disabled so I can't even do that anymore. What are my options?
The reason Touch ID was disabled was because she put in the wrong password too many times and now it says I must use the password to activate Touch ID.Next time, never let your sister touch your iPad again. Seriously. Someone capable to disable your Touch ID setting should be wary about all the time.
If you enabled Find my Phone, you can use that thru the website to wipe the phone, then restore from backup by setting it up again using your computer or iCloud backup. The reason Touch ID was disabled was because she put in the wrong password too many times and now it says I must use the password to activate Touch ID.
Yeah, I know that, but I was looking for a way to keep my data.If you enabled Find my Phone, you can use that thru the website to wipe the phone, then restore from backup by setting it up again using your computer or iCloud backup.
If you did not, a DFU restore is required using the computer that you used to back up the device. You can find the instructions for how to do this by searching the Apple support site.
Your excuses remind me of folks in the past who have been accused of trying to bypass iOS security because they had a stolen phone or they were trying to access the contents of a phone that was not theirs.Yeah, I know that, but I was looking for a way to keep my data.
I definitely did not steal this iPad. I bought it at Best Buy at a good price. But I do see how you can suspect I stole it.Your excuses remind me of folks in the past who have been accused of trying to bypass iOS security because they had a stolen phone or they were trying to access the contents of a phone that was not theirs.
I'm not saying this is you, but I am saying the situation/requests/excuses are similar.
Let me ask you one question: how good would the iPhone's security be if the methods by which its security features could be bypassed were so easily discovered and obtained?
I know this is for security, but I'm sure they could create a way to identify who you are in iTunes to keep all your data. I haven't connected it yet as I have some work to do, but can I create a backup right now, or does it need to be unlocked.Let me ask you one question: how good would the iPhone's security be if the methods by which its security features could be bypassed were so easily discovered and obtained?

Ok thanks. You might be able to do an iTunes encrypted backup. It depends on when and if you've ever mated the ipad to that specific computer. If you've never done a backup on that computer then its gonna ask for you to enter the unlock code on the phone.
Then you probably cannot use iTunes to do backup anymore. You have never connected your iPad to any computer I think?Ok thanks.
[doublepost=1467857897][/doublepost]So I tried to connect my iPad to iTunes, but it says to allow access to information, respond on your iPad which I can't do.

I used to back up regularly, but I stopped and my last backup isn't very recent.Wipe it as he said, then restore from your backup. You ARE backing it up, right?
I never had enough space to backup on iCloud so I guess I'm out of luck. I think I'll just wipe everything. The only thing I will lose is the photos, and most of my apps except for some games are tied to an account. Then you probably cannot use iTunes to do backup anymore. Next step is to see if your iPad has the latest iCloud backup. You can check this on other iOS devices logged in with your Apple ID.
I turned that off. If I go to the Apple Store, is there anything they can do?Check your photo stream or iCloud photos. There's hope you may be able to get some of your photos back.
Sounds like you should give that a try.I turned that off. If I go to the Apple Store, is there anything they can do?
No he means touch ID was disabled for too many attempts (5 fingerprint attempts to be exact). You had it confused with passcode attempts, which do have the long wait times. If I understand the OP right, the "sister" locked it with too many attempts, you unlocked with touchID, then she locked it again by too many attempts?
It takes some time to go through all the attempts with the wait times involved, why didn't she go to you after the 4th or 5th time as that is getting into hours to wait.
It does sound like the stolen scenario.

That's not how it works. She changed it, I could still get in with Touch ID, then she tried guessing it multiple times until it was locked. After I waited the one minute, I went to use Touch ID, then it said I have to type in the correct password to use Touch ID again. After other multiple guesses, it just says connect to iTunes. I don't care if I erase my data since most of my apps are tied to an account or GameCenter, but my family doesn't want me to since they have a lot of photos on it.If I understand the OP right, the "sister" locked it with too many attempts, you unlocked with touchID, then she locked it again by too many attempts?
