Where I go to college, there is one 15 minutes and at home there is one about 10 minutes away. However we never buy anything there. We use the stores to demo the machines and go home and order one. I do not want to make other people mad when they see a teenager walk out with Pro machines.

We have been given the "look" before. Once for buying a TiBook at 14 and AlBook when my bro was 14.

I took my MBP into the store for a new battery, again, people were looking me weird. Guess there is something wrong with an 18 year old asian with a MBP 17".

I live about 15 minutes away from the Biltmore store -- and wow has it been crowded lately. I stopped by to pick up an extra battery and power cord, and after waiting too long for someone to ring up my purchase, I just left and made the purchase on the web.

Can't wait till I live far, far from a store and the mall/city street that house them. Genius bars are mostly worthless.

I can call the 1-800 number and they will overnight a box be me if need be. Always have a back up mac for a week or so and you will be good.

The only one in quebec, is about 30-45 minutes away from me.
If it were 10-15 minutes away, I would probably drop in weekly or bi-weekly.
Although, I think there might be a good chance they open one in downtown Montreal in a few yers.

That is quite a trek just to get to the Sheffield store, Would probably be better if you are going to invest all that time to go to the Regent street store much bigger and better than sheffield.

I live about 10 minutes drive from Meadowhall when i'm at Uni and then at home i'm about 15 minutes drive from Brentcross or about 30 minutes train from regent street. So i'm pretty well covered.

Yes, I do suspect a plane to London and then visiting one of the stores in or around London is better... and - I must say - coming from a place with just two minute Apple Retailers and never having been to an Apple Store until two weeks ago: The Regent Street store is just plain fantastic! ;)

It isn't open yet, but is definitely being fitted out. There should be an announcement form Apple in the next day or two if it is going to be a July opening.

Buchanan St.

I was there last week, and they hadn't started fitting it out.

It's going to be a while yet, as it still looks like they're in the refurb/structural stage.

I've only ever been to the one Apple Store, the one on Regent St. I don't live right next door to it because that's a Ted Baker store, but it's only a 10 minute walk*.

* Note to Americans. Walk - to go somewhere without a car. Like running, only slower.

Here in Pasadena, I have an Apple store about a 7 minute walk from where I live.

I would just like to point out that I'm an American and I stated the time to the nearest Apple Store by walking :). Of course, I'm one of the few people here who wants to make driving a secondary form of transportation instead of the primary. I'd like to thank Europe (and a few American cities) for opening my eyes to a better way to live.

I am two hours from the nearest Apple store and my town only has a single Apple Reseller and he just orders whatever computer you want. A lot easier to just order online.

i used to only get to go to an apple store wen my family went to irvine..(id go to all three in the area cuz we always went to the shopping centers... so south coast plaza, fashion island and the spectrum)
and then MacDaddy a local reseller opened in fresno..(it was ok but nothing compared to a real apple store
Next an apple store oppened in fresno(where it is; its about 15 mins on the freeway... its good and all but a lot of the employees dont no much about the macs just ipod and iphone...(and its sad how the apple store is inevitably going to put macdaddy out of buisness)
but ya i know how u without one nearby feel..it sucks not havng one:apple:

Two closest stores to me are six and eight hours of drive time away.
That's my boat--I technically live in California, but the two closest stores are both a six hour drive away. But then, I prefer to let the Internet do the walking for me, so I'm not that broken up about it, except for the occasion to have service done at a Genius Bar.

I got lucky, though--the one time I did need to get something fixed (the power adapter on my MBP went out), I was out of town and near two different apple stores, so I got it swapped for a new one without the mail-in hassle.

Duh...we know what walking is. It's how you get to and from your car.

Haha...I nearly spit out what i was drinking when I read that. :D

Anyway, at my real home (near Chicago), I have 5 Apple Stores within 40-ish minutes of me (Northbrook, Oak Brook, North Michigan Avenue, Old Orchard, and Woodfield), with one (Woodfield) in 10 minute driving distance.

In Miami, where I go to school, I have 3 Apple Stores (The Falls, Lincoln Road, and Aventura)within an hour of me (depending on traffic)

I guess I'm picking all the right places to live!

100 miles north and 100 miles south for me, pick or choose. Usually North is faster just because I know how to get there better than I do south.
