Don't know if this is the right place to post this but if you're wearing an Apple Watch with the buttons facing your wrist, you can accidentally activate the SOS feature when wearing thick coat.

Yeah, but if you're going to roll out a feature like this, make sure it works
This isn't the camera crashing when I'm taking a picture, this is my phone calling 911

That's probably why they removed it from the beta for everyone (except India) so that they can properly explain how the feature works before rolling it out.

I understand how it works (although others may not) it's just that it didn't let me cancel it

I turned it off on my watch - never had it go off, but I prefer the "old" behaviour of the long press to bring up the power off option

The issue is that while you know how it works, you played with it just to hear the "cool sound". That was not a good reason to do this, even with the kill switch.

I turned off Emergency SOS anyway (when it was still around) because I am weird and sometimes repeatedly press the lock button. No I don't watch the screen flash on or off it's just a satisfying click to occupy my hands; I have a tendency to fidget.

I didn't turn it off immediately though, because I did learn the hard way that I haven't broken my habit. I investigated the feature when I first updated to the iOS 10.2 beta and did discover that it was activated by pressing the lock button quickly 5 times. So I just went "uh oh, I'm gonna have to change some habits." I avoided "fidgeting" at first but I did eventually slip up and boy it scared the hell outta me. A.) because of the noise, and B.) because I only narrowly escaped accidentally calling 911.

Because it's supposed to let you cancel it. Because I'd want to get to that point to see how it works BEFORE I'm in a real emergency and in a panic.

Do you test your cars airbags too Lol ;-)

I mean is it harder than just making a regular phone call?
