Oh relax and enjoy! That’s wonderful. I think it’s great you went for it. Given that you were cognizant of the fact I might not be able to float the credit for two purchase at once, I would assume you’re not stupid with money and just like to have a bit of fun with it now and again when you can. After a lifetime of incredible frugality and driving one car for 26 years, I like to spoil myself with the phones and occasionally the Apple Watch. iPads, well those I use until they fall apart.
I got the 256 GB Max. If I had to do it all over again I’d get the 512 and go ahead and endure the months worth of stink eye from my husband. We can afford it, but HE thinks it’s unnecessary and therefore stupid, so I didn’t. I definitely could fill all of that space but yes, I’d have to hold the phone for about 2 years to do so. I’m thinking I will want to upgrade next year if they add an even wider angle lens to the camera. I would love such a lens for my museum and art gallery trips where I have to work in a confined space to photograph a large exhibit in its entirety. That’s not really possible without wide angle lenses. Or I could go for a triple zoom like my husband has on his P20 Pro and get photos of birds and butterflies that I can’t get close to. I love camera improvements on these phones.
I am splurging on the gold stainless Apple Watch. My husband gets his free though work. And I’m getting some off of the cost via trade in of my old watch. So there’s that.
I’ve had the aluminum watches and I do generally prefer their value and light weight. But I have wanted a gold finish like this since the first time I saw an Apple Watch. Remember those outrageously priced original Edition watches? I innocently thought those were gold stainless steel when I first fell in love with them. You would have had to peel me off the ceiling when I found out crazy Jony or somebody had them made out of real gold and charged the price of an economy car for one.
