Yes. I just got my 3gs yesterday and despite not thinking I would be "one of those people" that worries about the defects of the phone I cant stop feeling like it has the yellow screen thing that I probably wouldn't have even noticed had I not read the stuff on the net about it.

I love gadgets, but nothing has got me hooked like the iPhone has, since MacWorld 2007.
I've had Walkmans, Gameboys, Discmans, iPods, still have a PSP, other mobiles before iPhone, etc, and all of these had had me under it's spell for no more then a few months, before I eventually get bored and they then become irrelavant in my world.
But not this thing. I've had my current 3G for just under a year, before that, a first-gen iPhone since February 2008, and before that, a first-gen iPod touch since November '07.
Nearly two years on since my first introduction to the iPhone OS(not including obsessing over the iPhone blogosphere for months, before it's launch in the UK), I'm still in love with this thing, and it shows no sign of abating.
Rival mobiles since have made me go "oohh and "wow", but always only for short periods.

Agreed. A big reason for that is that a Walkman will always just be Walkman. A Windows Mobile 6.5 smartphone will always be a Windows Mobile 6.5 smartphone (unless your carrier is nice enough to offer an update). But an iPhone is always evolving, getting better, doing more. Between Apple's generous free OS updates and the unbelievable number of useful apps, my iPhone gives me a new experience all the time. Like Apple says, the iPhone is just a software platform. The goodness is inside, and you can expand it to your heart's delight. And if you're a little brave, you can jailbreak, then it gets really good.

Well, now that Facebook is updated its back to waiting for MMS and 3.1... Damn. You have to admit waiting for FB 3.0 was a relatively nice distraction from MMS and 3.1 talks.

It really depends. Sometimes I like knowing what is going on, and sometimes I like being surprised. Being involved has saved me a lot of money though.
