1.0.2 Firmware

Did the new firmware work for you? If so can you forward the 1.0.2 to me?

Not yet. Alan is walking me through the process. Once I get it done, I will be uploading the needed files to my mediafire.com account and I will then post the link for you, and others, to download the files.

Or, you can download the 1.02 firmware file (http://www.mediafire.com/?0ysymxbxngw) and 1.02 signature file(http://www.mediafire.com/?57x2sruyjdv). This is what I am using. However, it is not only a zip file, but in the zip file is a winRaR format file that you will need this software to extract it correctly http://www.download.com/3120-20_4.html?qt=winrar&tag=srch&tg=dl-20

iPod_24.1.0.2 Firmware/Signature File

Did the new firmware work for you? If so can you forward the 1.0.2 to me?

O.K... I haven't gotten the 1.0.2 firmware to work with my V55 yet. I must be doing something wrong. I have uploaded the firmware files to my mediafire account. You can download the zip file with the firmware and signatures files from:

http://www.mediafire.com/?y5911bdteb2

The idea is, once you downgrade your classic to the 1.0.2 version, I am told to set your iPod to TV Out Yes, select the movie you want, then a cable picture with connect to video message is displayed. You then connect the iPod to the V55, then turn on the V55 and it should work. Be sure to turn on your V55 AFTER you connect your iPod with the TV Out message displayed.

I am going to keep trying to get my V55 to work. I will try restoring my iPod to the 1.0.2 version again.

Thanks for posting this. Did you try this with a Nano or a Classic?

I was able to downgrade my Classic to the 1.0.2 version. But no matter what "tricks" I use, I can not get the video out to work with my V55. I am so frustrated about this. Another user, Alankelly, gave me the steps and tricks that worked for him, but it does not work for me. I have no idea why. I so want to use my V55 but can't.

iPOD nano 3G 4GB

I have made the stupid mistake of allowing iTunes to update my nano to firmware 1.1.3, now it will no longer link to my Alpine car stereo. I have trawled the web and seen other with a similar issue. It seems I need to downgrade to version 1.1.1 and all will be well. I have downloaded

iPhone1,1_1.1.1_3A109a_Restore.ipsw
iPod1,1_1.1.1_3A110a_Restore.ipsw

both of which fail as being incompatible. In desperation I downloaded

iPod_26.1.0.3.ipsw
iPod_24.1.0.2.ipsw

again, both fail for the same reason, incompatible. Any help anyone can give me to get me out of this mess would be appreciated!

Nano 3G firmwares start with "iPod_26", there is no point in trying anything else. That said, one of the firmwares you tried was "iPod_26," which should have worked... I'd just keep looking and trying, but again, just try things that start with "iPod_26"

right, thank you for that, that is a start!

I will keep digging, if anyone has any that start with a 26, please feel free to swamp me with links!

I have now tried:

iPod_26.1.0.2.ipsw
iPod_26.1.0.3.ipsw

neither of these work they both get the same incompatible firmware version message, are we sure that the Nano 3G 4GB uses these file? I really don't understand why this isn't working.

Okay, did some research, and it seems some people have had success downgrading by disconnecting their computers from the internet. That is, disconnect, restore, then reconnect.

Ok I tried that too, when I hit restore it complains there is no internet connection and asks me to re-connect. If I do it says my firmware is up to data (V1.1.3) if I don't reconnect it fails saying I have no internet connection.

Any more ideas? All help is greatly appreciated!

Unfortunately I was never able to make this work... I just had to suck it up. Now that everything is iTunes+ it isn't much of an issue for me. Sorry, I know that doesn't help :(
