*Possible Solution!*

So, after many failed attempts.... (backups were all 10.8 Bear), I think I have discovered a way of returning back to stable 10.7.

Another family member has 10.7 on their laptop, so I simply downloaded the Lion Recovery Disk Assistant (here) : http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1433?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US

I made a recovery disk on an external USB HD, and upon startup holding the option key with usb in... and now I can quickly and easily clean-reinstall OSX Lion using this method. I hope this helps other people who were as foolish as me to install a Beta as their main OS to look badass.

Thanks,
richadheath94 :apple:

I had the same problem last summer when I upgraded my MBP from 10.6 to 10.7. I downgraded with the 10.6 disc, but nothing at all worked right. My only option from then on out was to stick with Lion until it was released.

was your DP legitimate or not? I would have thought there would be an error if you bought the Lion retail and tried to install it over the GM. like, '10.7 is already installed' or something.

I hope this is the same for mountain lion,
that would save me a lot of stress!

Read all the way through this thread.
I am actually looking for exactly the same solutions.
Thanks for ur post.
I posted a thread to ask for solutions, but no one relied. Since my English is not my native language, it was probably because my post was not properly phrased.
Thank you.

I'm sure you've heard about some of those websites. Go to one and download yourself a copy of Lion > burn it to a DVD > create a new partition in Disk Utility > boot to the install DVD > install Lion on the new partition.

What websites? If its not allowed then please PM the name

I rather not say...
Lets put it this way - you should not expect any privacy, especially when what you want is to talk about things the board does not allow. If you would rather not say, then don't ask in the first place because it's probably not allowed.
