Hey there, I'm trying to do the same thing because I really hate the new Maps.
I'm running iOS 6.0 on my iPhone 4 now (haven't upgraded to 6.0.1), and I want to run 5.X but I only have SHSH blobs for 4.3.5.
Can I downgrade to 4.3.5, jailbreak, and upgrade to an unsigned version of 5.X?
No, you can never restore to any firmware version that you dont have shsh blobs for.
NEVER.
If you have blobs for 4.3.5 you can downgrade to that or 6.0.1
No other options.
can i downgrade it? how to do it?
i need to downgrade 6.0 to 4.3.5 my iphone 4. i have only 4.3.5 shsh blobs.Downgrade what and to what version?
Did you bother reading the rest of the thread on how and why?
Its has been explained a dozen times.
hi everyone. i just bought an factory unlocked iphone 4 and the guy i bought it from upgraded to iOS 6.0.1. He has never jailbroken it he said. Is there a way I can downgrade to 5.1.1 in this situation. If so, please let me know, this is a completely nightmare. Why do people upgrade!
Hi All, I had a similar question. I currently have a JB iphone 4 running IOS 5.0.1 and I want to upgrade to 5.1. At the top of my Cydia page it says all the SHSH's from ios 4.2.6 all the way to 6.0.1 (including 5.1). Do I have the necessary SHSH blobs to upgrade to 5.1?
so I don't know how far off I am with this, but isn't part of the reason you need the SHSH blobs because you cannot do the simple itunes downgrade now? (which, to my knowledge, came with itunes 11)...so couldn't you downgrade to an earlier version of itunes, where you didn't need an internet connection to alt-click-restore, and just downgrade the device from there?
That would make the need to save your blobs useless. If you can crack the 19-blob encryption, you should do ok. Sell the iPhone as factory unlocked and buy an older one on 5.1.1.
How di I crack the encryption? Thnx. I'm actually serious!
Lol
Even with today's government supercomputers it can take hundreds of years to brute force that encryption.
Sucks man![]()
Ya I really want to downgrade back to 6.0. This may sound dumb, but is there a way to hack the software and restore to 6.0 on iPhone 5?
Can't you get the blobs from someone who has the same iphone model or is there some specific reason you need to get it yourself?
I made the huge mistake of updating my Ipod Touch 4 to the iOS 6.0.1. I read everything and I realized that it's impossible to go back to the iOS 5.1.1 if I don't have SHSH blobs, right?
But I remembered that over a year ago, around september or october 2011, I suppose, I had my device jailbroken. I don't remember what iOS it was running back then, but is it possible that I can downgrade to that version? Even without knowing which one? How?
If yes, can I go on iTunes and restore it to 5.1.1 by using the "Shift" button?
I would be very happy just to be able to downgrade it, no matter to what iOS, because I can't even use it at the moment, none of my apps open!
Thank you very much! I appreciate any help!
I recently bought a used AT&T iPhone 4 from a friend who upgraded to an iPhone 5, but before they boxed it up and shipped it to me they wiped it using an iTunes restore and, in the process, upgraded the phone to iOS 6.0.
Is it at all possible to downgrade to 5.1.1 without having been able to save the previous SHSH blobs? Is there any trace of them somewhere on my friend's computer from previous upgrades/restores (he never had it jailbroken and thus never had the SHSH blobs saved to the Cydia servers)? Can someone else's SHSH blobs be edited to be used for mine?
Or am I just completely SOL and stuck with iOS 6 locked to the AT&T network until a new jailbreaking method is discovered for iOS 6 (IF that happens at all)?
Thanks in advance for any and all info and advice,
~Brandon
I had gotten a replacement iPhone 4 not so long ago my phone had got this screen problem. So I decided to see if that phone that could be downgraded from iOS6 to 5.1.1 with no SHSH Blobs and wow to my surprise I was able to downgrade it lol I think some phones are able to be downgraded but not all, also when I downgraded it I checked to see if I could save the blobs from the new phone and yes I was able to do it.
