Glad to know it didn’t kill your phone, shame about the bugs though.

I just make sure the YouTube link is in the clipboard, then pull down notification centre and press the shortcuts widget.
It then downloads to my camera roll.

Where are you finding the “media downloader” function? All I can find is “download file” and it just downloads the html. If I try to d/l the actual video file from googles server, I get an empty 0kb file.

Any video that has a “download” link will only play them. For instance - my own YouTube videos that I would like to put on my phone, emailed videos, or just recently when someone took a video of me and sent me a dropbox link - I can only play it. It just seems complete nonsense that I’m not allowed to put these on my phone. Clearly apple is never going to get the hint so there needs to be another way.

Also, I’ve used that Documents app but you can only access those files through the app which prevents me from uploading them through other apps - so the only benefit is I can watch them offline.

If you own the Movie on YouTube you should be able to access it via Movies Anywhere and download it via iTunes.

I don’t have a computer that’s capable of running the iTunes version I need to use the “tv” app or whatever it’s called. iTunes is not an option for me.
[doublepost=1538528645][/doublepost]I totally forgot, that was actually the major thing that screwed me when I updated to OS11 - I could no longer put videos on my phone because my computer is too old and outdated to run the version of iTunes required.
[doublepost=1538528778][/doublepost]I found a bit of a work-around, I just uploaded the video to YouTube and then used the YouTube downloader shortcut to download it to my phone. It’s not full resolution anymore but it’s better than nothing. Thanks everyone.

I hate how iOS, this many years later can't do simple things like this. but Apple thinks the iPad is going to replace Macbooks lol.

You don't need iTunes on a desktop to download use movies anywhere from our phone. You can install movies anywhere and it will transfer your purchases to iTunes. you can then download them to your phone directly from iTunes on your mobile device.

I tried the shortcuts for youtube videos and works flawless and easy to use. Give that a try. Also did the videos for safari. while it's not as easy as the youtube one it still works really well.

I think you’re replying to the wrong thread. No one here is talking about movies.
