Any video that has a “download” link will only play them. For instance - my own YouTube videos that I would like to put on my phone, emailed videos, or just recently when someone took a video of me and sent me a dropbox link - I can only play it. It just seems complete nonsense that I’m not allowed to put these on my phone. Clearly apple is never going to get the hint so there needs to be another way.
Also, I’ve used that Documents app but you can only access those files through the app which prevents me from uploading them through other apps - so the only benefit is I can watch them offline.
I don’t have a computer that’s capable of running the iTunes version I need to use the “tv” app or whatever it’s called. iTunes is not an option for me.
[doublepost=1538528645][/doublepost]I totally forgot, that was actually the major thing that screwed me when I updated to OS11 - I could no longer put videos on my phone because my computer is too old and outdated to run the version of iTunes required.
[doublepost=1538528778][/doublepost]I found a bit of a work-around, I just uploaded the video to YouTube and then used the YouTube downloader shortcut to download it to my phone. It’s not full resolution anymore but it’s better than nothing. Thanks everyone.
I hate how iOS, this many years later can't do simple things like this. but Apple thinks the iPad is going to replace Macbooks lol.
I think you’re replying to the wrong thread. No one here is talking about movies. You don't need iTunes on a desktop to download use movies anywhere from our phone. You can install movies anywhere and it will transfer your purchases to iTunes. you can then download them to your phone directly from iTunes on your mobile device.

Then what are you trying to accomplish?
