DriveDx, S.M.A.R.T., sat-smart and external SSDs

smartmontools-7.5.dmg is the latest official release of smartmontools for macOS and it installs into /usr/local/sbin

- smartmontools is free, DriveDx is usually $25
- smartmontools has been updated on 12 May 2025. The latest release of DriveDx is from 25 September 2023.
