Dropbox is working fine here too, but it does seem to be using far more RAM than usual, about 500 mb.

I'm really eying that Mac Mini, but I use Dropbox, Google Drive and OneDrive macOS Finder integration for various clients. Did I understand correctly that these apps won't work through Rosetta and therefore are dependant on an Apple Silicon specific app being delivered by the developers? That might take a while knowing Google.... And Dropbox also isn't the quickest. These apps are crucial for me, so if they don't work I will probably have to wait a while before I can get a new Mac.

dropbox and one drive works under Rosetta 2, but one drive is not integrated with finder because it’s not a universal app yet. Dunno about google drive as I dont have google drive

Could you expand upon your answers that "one drive works under Rosetta 2" & "one drive is not integrated with finder because it’s not a universal app"? Isn't Finder integration what the OneDrive client app does? Without it, what's functionality is there?

And why does this require it to be a Universal App? What stops it working as usual in Rosetta, similar to Dropbox?

In any case, the OneDrive client app on MacOS (on Intel) has terrible sync performance compared to Dropbox. It takes well over a minute to log-in on my MBP16, and then file syncs are glacially slow and sometimes give up. I tried to move 400GB from Dropbox to OneDrive via the client apps and it was a very painful experience over a couple of weeks. (A far better solution is to use a Cloud-based migration tool like mover.io, CloudHQ or MultCloud). However, the OneDrive web-based app is actually quite fast, but of course doesn't sync to your local file system.

it can sync files from the onedrive from the menu bar. however I could not see the icon of onedrive from the panel of finder unlike Dropbox. i did click Finder Integration but the one drive icon could not be seen on the panel. I can see it on the finder on the intel machine, but not on the m1 machine. Maybe I am missing something or maybe I made a mistake

i reset the onedrive app, reinstalled it. Clicked on the turn on the finder integration. Still the same. For some reason it did not show the icon on the panel. Everything works otherwise. some extensions from intel maybe not supported on the finder in Mac m1

here is the difference. The one is finder on intel MacBook on left and one is finder on m1 MacBook Air on right. Look for the difference.

I fixed the problem of missing one drive icon on Mac m1. There is now a onedrive icon in the finder. I forgot by mistake to install office for intel Mac and instead installed the ipad version of office, but before I installed it, I uninstalled onedrive and deleted the ipad version Of office and then installed office and again installed OneDrive, signed in, then finally saw a icon for one drive on mac finder. All is working fine on Mac m1 now just like the intel one.
