Just had my first iPhone drop and it was in the office.

I'd say it fell about 2.5-3 feet and feel on the glass...

not a scratch, still functions perfectly..

I guess I'm lucky?

i took it in and said it was being goofy, and they sent it in for repair. it has a small ding at the top (not from this drop) but from the first day i got it. i don't know if that will effect the decision process when looking at it to see if it's damage caused by me.

I can tell you that if a laptop had that sign of physical damage, they would not treat it as a warranty. I think the phone business is a bit different and Apple has shown signs of "liberal" repair policy so far.

Good luck. :)

What is a counter?

You'd think you folks who invented the language would keep track of all the strange things we Americans have done to it ;)

A counter is a work surface in a kitchen usually built into the walls or free standing as a center island. The standard height is about 3/4 of a meter (30 inches).

it was a thin carpet at work (like it was maybe 3 cm thick on top of stone)

fixed!

Awesome that they replaced your dropped iPhone after you told them it was acting odd...not because you dropped it...why bother telling them the whole story? You my friend paved the way. I think I may just get an iPhone now because if I drop it like a tool I can get a new one! I was worried because of all the others who said they were having trouble.
I dig Apple's CS!!
Thank you :)

Did they repair your old one, or just give you a new one? Years ago when I bought my Motorola RAZR, I paid $250. This was back when they first came out and they were just availible in silver. I have babied that phone and it still doesn't have a scratch on it after a couple of years. When I pay alot for any kind of equipment, I always am very careful with it. I'm glad you got yours fixed. That would have been an expensive repair if you had to pay for it yourself.
