As I said in an earlier post I'm going back to a single display setup... Kind off... I'm planning to get a Intuos Cintiq 22HD early next year. This will be my second display.

I use three monitors at work. One central 24", a 21" off to the right, and my 11" macbook air screen below the 24". Usually I do most work on the 24" screen with mail taking up the whole 21" monitor and finder/instant message on the laptop screen. I use two spaces most of the time on Mountain Lion and use the second space when I need to interrupt my work to do a very different kind of task. I regularly leave the mail on the 21" screen and cover it up with a web browser temporarily while looking something up for my work on the 24".

Occasionally I use just my 11" laptop screen and have no problem with that, but most of my work requires me to look at and compare data from multiple sources in order to arrive at the results, so multiple monitors definitely streamlines my workflow.

I took a picture to illustrate the geometry of my setup.

What's with the two monitors in the top-center of the picture behind the other three - are those hot spares? :)

I think I'd have a sore neck from that setup. Though I might not be man enough to handle more than UHD - actually trying my setup with the second monitor disabled for a while...

Dual 24" Cinema displays here and they have been fantastic for me over the past 4 years. Quite a nice size. I would find it VERY hard to go back to a single display.

When the new MP comes out, I will either add a 27" as a central display, or go with 2 x 27" displays.

I love my 2 x 1200p displays, but I find more and more that I could do with 3 screens. One for email/messaging/ftp, one for photoshop, one for browser/preview or coding.

But yeh - 2 displays far better than 1. Just get 2 x 24" or bigger.

I've tried five monitors as I mentioned in an earlier post but it doesn't work well. Now they're connected to a Chrome Box, but I don't use them much.

Nope. Read my post earlier in the thread, it's ideal.
