I would rather have the current size bezels than having a notch or a pill cut-out. In my opinion, I think the iPad is already great. I just hope the next generation has a stronger frame so it doesn't bend easily like the previous ones.

We can put it this way. If there was any actual value to DI as a feature it could be done with a normal display (ie no notch/pill) just via software making that area black and expanding as needed. But the chances of Apple taking a fully-functional screen and making a permanent black area there via software to implement this is zero ( I hope).

People use iPads as laptop replacement with keyboard and mouse/trackpad, so interacting woudlnt be an issue for those users.

Dynamic Island would be great on iPad for extra on screen display of information, such as live activities, music app, timers etc can crack on with doing whatever you need a glance up to see the live infomation withtu having to change screens.

To change music you have to cover entire screen to access control center whereas dynamic island is a quick tap and doesn’t cover much content.

Dynamic Island would need to work in both portrait and landscape - there's no point having it in one orientation only and well... it's not providing too much value beyond familiarity; there's plenty of people who don't use iPad as a laptop replacement and more of a media consumption device.

You need bezels to hold the iPad. A phone can have almost zero bezel because you can still easily grip it on its sides. But the iPad needs some grip area.

So I predict no change. M2, magsafe and that's it, not a huge upgrade.

Guess they could just have a software version of DI instead of needing to move cameras out of bezel

Would Apple ever push the screen to be completely flush with the bezel? That would be neat.

And if they do...do you think the camera will be on landscape or portrait side?

I have...which is why I'm curious if that's even an option.

Maybe they'll have 1 edge be thick, similar to the Kindle Oasis/Scribe for grip. and the rest can be super-thin.
