Earliest shipping confirmation for 15" MBP w/ 7200rpm drive

While we are speculating.... I can no longer edit payment method. I can not actually remember if I ever could. I do not see any charge to my credit card yet. I have purchased multiple items. Some were already shipped and maybe that is why I can not change payment methods. Hopefully this is another good sign that they will start shipping soon. But probably just over speculation.

Well if you can't cancel it sounds good, I have the same ship date as you so your giving me hope. I also can't change my payment details and all I ordered was the MacBook Pro.
I had a ship date of July 18 and was able to cancel Sunday. I am in MA and the order showed as going in at 11AM Cupertino time.
I canceled my order for the 15 and bought a 17 HD 7200 Matte from the local Apple retail store.
I'm guessing the reason for the delay is so they could carry the "Ultimate" (what they are calling it...) edition in the stores with the 7200 RPM drives.

Ultimate hay, I bet they are selling a lot mainly because people have no choice if they want the 7200 rpm hard drive.
What's this "Ultimate" edition? Are you saying they plan on selling models with the 7200rpm drive in the stores??
Don't think they would ever do an ultimate edition. Anyway adding a faster HD isn't a big enough deal for a new addition.
It seems to me they're losing money in the long run because a lot of people who don't want to wait for the 7200 are just ordering the stock 15" instead. If they had the part in stock I'm sure they would have been shipping our orders.
By the sounds of it a speced out 17 inch model, 7200 rpm hard drive and the hi-res screen.
Maybe, but the 17" model isn't selling nearly as many as the 15" from what I've heard. You can get a 17" shipped in 24 hours, the 15" now say 5-7 days because they're so backlogged with orders. I sure can't wait to get mine! I thought about the 17", but nah.

sorry guys, I'm new to this forum thing and new to the Mac community (windows switcher)....in fact this is my 4th post ever! I Just checked my apple shipping date and it still says 3rd july! I literally ordered 2 hours after the apple site came up on the 5th June but I have not heard of anyone else with an early ship date as mine which is making me think they better not put mine back!!!
These foirums definaltly make you feel anxious especailly after reading some of the issues people are having with their MBPs but I guess these are a few, out of the many thousand of MBPs sold and I guess those with problems come to these forums, those who have good ones will be enjoying their new MBPs........ I'm always the optomist!!
I am getting impatient though, I'm finding myself wondering into apple stores of a weekend to have a play on the new MBPs ......... not good, I'm turning into such a geek since I ordered this thing!
Have you called recently to check on the status? Your online status and dates won't change until it's actually shipped, and you'll get an email probably the day after that. I'm sure you're first in line for when they receive the new hard drives, although they may have already received them and have yours ready to go out!
I'm betting (and hoping!) some will ship next week sometime!
I ordered the Friday after WWDC. I'm glad because initially I was going to order the 17" with the 7200 and hi def upgrade, but I changed my mind and ordered the 15" that Friday.
I'm not worried, it'll be a beautiful machine like all of my others have been! I looked at them in the store yesterday, all are very nice!
Thanks - I just called but when going through to the operator is says sorry there is a fault please try again? had this twice? - i'll try again in the morning, as soon as I hear anything I'll be quick to put a post up so you know yours won't be too far away!
