Why wired still, when most iPhone owners use bluetooth now?

Please note this is just a preference question, to establish current thoughts.

I use both wired and bluetooth.
Because wireless earbuds made by Apple still suck a** when it comes to call quality.

I don’t think there’s really a need for faster speeds on the iPhone. I can’t imagine there’s many people moving content on or off the device via cable vs wirelessly.
Gee, I wonder why that could be?

Could it be that people are moving content on and off their iPhones less and less using wires because there's never been an iPhone with faster transfer speeds USB 2.0 while Apple simultaneously has been pushing its iCloud dependent services and backup plans on iPhone users left and right?

I still use wired EarPods. Cheaper and harder to lose than AirPods. No need to worry about charging them, no tears if they fall in the ocean or the dog tries to eat them.

(That said, I do use Bluetooth over-ear headphones as well…)

One annoying thing is that back when EarPods switched from headphone Jack to Lightning, you could no longer use them on a Mac without an adapter. The upgrade to USB-C fixes that, yay!

USB-C = good
EU bullying corporations into it = boooooo

If Apple had done the right thing and switched iPhone to USB-C years ago, then the EU rules would never have been necessary.

The EU also made a good decision to standardise EV car charging early on too, so they don’t have the situation the US has with multiple competing plug standards.

Personally, I hope they’ll look at interoperable charging for e-bikes and power tools next!

Maybe apple would have had a better case against this regulation if they ever made any “innovation” on lightening and didn’t just abandon it for ten years since inception, leaving it at just USB 2 speed and unable to carry the same power as the latest USB C standard.
Or possibly saying here, we’ve developed a new port for mobile devices. We’ll make it an open standard for everyone to use.

What 20W wall brick? My 30W apple charging brick is USB C and has a satisfying click, just like the other end of the cable that plugs into my 14 Gen iphone with a lightning connector.
Does it? :/

Hmm, well, as long as they create a solid connection click and I don’t have to worry whether or not the USB-C is plugged in all the way or not. That’s the most annoying thing about USB-C to me, that I think lightning does way better at.

interoperable charging for [...] power tools next!
It's not the charging part yet, but I really enjoy interchangeable batteries in my tools from different brands. And I can use any charger for them. In that way I guess thay do have interoperable charging.

Yup. Can't wait for all the busted ports. USB-C is nowhere near as robust or sturdy a physical port. This standard might be great for small electronics that don't see a lot of "in-n-out" action on the port but I don't think this was well thought out when it comes to phones. Had to have mine replaced on my 2017 MBP but never once had a problem with a lightning port.
Apple could have allowed other manufacturers to use the lightning port when they released it.

With such a superior port they could have allowed it to dominate the market and become the standard with the same usb 3 transfer speeds a usb c.

Their greediness caused this as well.

Love these buds. Cheap, very easy convenient to put in compared to those rubber-things. They also sound pretty good, but your experience varies greatly depending on how well they fit your ear.

I bought a bunch of the 3.5mm ones and put in storage because I thought maybe they'd be discontinued in favour of the lighting and now USB-C version.

I use both wired and bluetooth.
I use wired at work while talking to vendors. It broadcast to my co-worker, "I'm on a business call"🙂
