The iPhone 5 uses a single chip for all cell connections. So wouldn't it actually use MORE power when it's using a slower air interface such as EDGE or UMTS since the chip has to stay active longer than LTE which can get to sleep quicker? Anybody know?

I have an iPhone 4S, and for some reason I can't turn on the 4G toggle in BatteryDoctorPro. So annoying. I'm guessing it's always thinking the 4G is LTE and since my device doesn't support LTE, it doesn't let me switch the 4G toggle on.
