I have a related question...Alright, so I'm a highschool senior and I guess that means I don't get an education discount. But i'm also enrolled for a four year college in the fall...I just don't have any tangible ID for them yet or anything. How should I prove my student status? I want to buy in-store.

I can log onto the apple store for my school via their website and my student ID, and I have my acceptance letter...would that suffice to convince a salesperson?

I think that if you show them the acceptance letter, you should be ok. It would be pretty nasty of them to not take the letter as proof.

I brought in a copy of the credits I was transferring into my 4 year school and that worked for the people at my Apple store. I wasn't in college at the time (took a semester off) but they didn't mind.

Well for University of California Santa Cruz, they say the last day we can buy computers is June 13th...so I'm assuming that's the last day we have for buying stuff.

That might be for those who are graduating this year. Otherwise, schools don't mind if you purchase from their store. As for Apple, I believe you have a grace period for purchases after you graduate, but check up to make sure. I know it's not very long, but it's better than nothing.

Oh wow good call! I checked up and it did say for seniors. Wow that's awesome! Thanks!

Sadly, you have to PAY for ADC "discounts" so you really can't save money unless you really want to be in the Apple developer program as well....
Well given this thread is about education discounts, the obvious is that you'd usually qualify for the ADC Student membership if you qualified for higher ed individual discounts (e.g. student, age 18<)...I was not talking about select/premier ADC membership. The Student membership is only $99. If it was $400 off the MBP, that would be $300 in savings by getting the student membership, plus qualify for applying for the WWDC scholarship etc.

Lets say, i wish to buy from Apple store US.. then ask them to ship the MBP to me

1 how long it takes?
2 any more taxes included?
3 i m studying college, can i get educational discount?
4 is it possible??hehe...

cz i really fed up with the service of apple malaysia..
