And for those of us with numerous machines (that are often in a state of spec-flux) it's not practical to put all info in sig. I, like others have multiple machines in use (over a dozen right now), and several test/dev boxes as well. Putting all that info in a sig would be silly.

I'm totally behind the notion of the information being provided, but in the post is fine, insisting on it being in signature is unnecessary IMO.

+1, as these signatures are picked up and indexed by Google, in fact they do more harm than good by poisoning web search results.

Indeed they also confuse threads over time as an old thread about hardware *at that point in time* suddenly makes no sense once the user has updated their sig.

Posting the relevant info in the post allows you to follow chronology of updates and information.

You’re welcome to keep the info to yourself MIKX if that’s how you want to respond. I’m not picking on you personally just pointing out some of the issues with insisting on using sigs as a fuxed reference point in a thread. If you have a good solution to those issues then please put them forward.

A log time ago someone pointed this problem to me and I thought that wouldn't be relevant until I was bitten by it myself, signatures makes web searches a lot more complicated when you try to find something and the forum search don't work. After that I stopped using it for good and this crusade for signatures seems just stupid to me, if you have a doubt about the config, just ask.

I have this ROM on my backup drive. I will dig it out, and re-post. It will be a few hours as I am not in the office right now.
Wondering if I could get a copy of your rom file if possible. Busy working with the same card.
